Call for details News Blyth Festival announces 2005 season surplus of over $4,000 The Blyth Festival has a surplus of just over $4,700 in operations for the 2005 season, members learned at the festival's annual gen- eral meeting Dec. 8. "We kept a firm control of expenses and operated with fewer administrative and pro- duction staff to produce five shows and 12 special events and fundraising projects," said general manager Gardner conveyed. "Fifty-seven per cent of our revenues were earned at the box office and through special events, 27 per cent from government sources and over $153,000 from members, donors and corporate partners and sponsors," she said. Management and staff are now preparing for an extraordinary celebration of Canadian theatre in 2006. "We will produce our 100th world premiere," declared Coates. "This puts us in a very exclusive club and we're very excited about attaining this unique distinction," he said. Passes are on sale now for the 2006 season.
