Bill Siemon decorated his tractor to take part in the tractor parade around Sawmill Road in Winthrop
Saturday night. Siemon's tractor was a Slab Town float pulling Santa and his reindeer.
Machinery decorated with
Christmas lights for parade
The topic of the sermon at Cavan
United Church was "Once and For
All And Again and Again."
During the children's story the
white gifts were gathered. The candle lighting was
done by the Goos family.
Greeters and collectors were Connie and Brian
Alcock and girls. A social time followed the service.
In last week's news, I omitted that the candle light-
ing was done by Judy Beuerman and Holly Becker.
The Sunday School concert is to be held on Dec.
18 at 9:30 a.m.
Christmas is now less than three weeks away and
the snow is putting us in the holiday mood. On
Saturday evening I watched the Sawmill Road Farm
Machinery Parade. While waiting for the action, I
was thinking what a great night for
the event, stars lighting the sky, plus
an aircraft passing, snow, on the
ground and not much wind.
I was situated at the corner of Sawmill Road and
Beechwood Line. I estimated the number of vehicles
at the corner at 40. "
Then the parade itself - 17 different sizes of farm
machinery well lit up, including one combine, one
hay loader, one horse-drawn wagon and tractors of
all sizes, some of which were pulling other imple-
ments.
Lots of time and strings of lights went in to the
beautifully -decorated machines. This was a great
parade which drew people from Blyth and Seaforth
(that I know of) as well as the locals.
