Requires a 'Building Official/Drainage
Superintendent'
The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is currently seeking a highly motivated team player for
the position of 'Building OfficiaV Drainage Superintendent'. The successful applicant will be
required to review plans, issue permits and inspect building construction in the Municipality and
ensure compliance with the provisions of the Ontario Building Code, Municipal By-laws and oth-
er applicable regulations and to be responsible for all maintenance of Municipal Drains located
within the Municipality.
This position will be a Full Time position, approximately 37.5 hours per week, complete with
benefits. The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is a strong supporter of educational and tech-
nical training. A job description for the position is available for review at the Municipal Of-
fice.
Preference:
• Preference will be given to applicants with Post Secondary education in Civil or
Architectural Technology;
• and/ or a Community College certificate or university degree in a related field
or a licensed construction tradesperson;
Education and Qealfkatfons:
• Secondary School Di ( Grade 12) is required.
• Certified Building ( e Official ((8(0) designation to qualify under Bill 124 or
willingness to obtain the designation
• Certified Drainage Superintendent under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food
or willingness to obtain the designation
• Municipal By-law Enforcement Officer designation or training an asset
• Property Standards officer designation or training an asset
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and minimal GIS applications
• Vingness to attend job related educational courses, seminars, etc. as required
• Previous experience in the Construction Trades will be an asset
• Previous experience in a Municipal environment will be an asset
• Familiarity with all types of building materials, construction and procedures
• Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, and building
construction drawings,
• Must hold the appropriate motor vehicle licence (G) classification for work
related travel.

AUSTIN, Hilda: At Seaforth Community Hospital on
Saturday, November 5, 2005, Hilda Marie Austin of
Seaforth in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Bill
Austin (2000). Dear mother of Bruce Austin of Seaforth
and Marlene Britton of Harriston. Loving grandmother
of Shannon, David and Shealynn Austin. Also
remembered by daughter-in-law Jane Austin of
Egmondville, sister-in-law Eileen Demmerling and
cousin Arthur Self, both of Harriston, son-in-law Bud
Britton of Florida, several nieces and nephews and
great grandson Matthew. Predeceased by a grandson
Jeff Britton (2001), twin sister Hazel Dungey, brother
Eldon Demmerling, parents Andrew and Elvina
Demmerling, and four nieces. A funeral service was
held on Monday, November 7 at St. Thomas Anglican
Church, Seaforth at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Sue Malpus
officiated. Interment Baird's Cemetery, Stanley
Township. Pallbearers were David Austin, Don Austin,
Mark Calder, Ray Scoins, Andrew Davidson and Jim
Snowdon. Memorial donations to Seaforth Community
Hospital Foundation or St. Thomas Anglican Church
would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth (519-527-1390).

MURRAY, Mary: Finally at peace on Friday,
November 4, 2005 at Seaforth Community
Hospital, Mrs. Mary Murray of Seaforth in her 77th
year. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Murray.
Loving mother of Dan and Sharon Murray of
Kintore, Pat Murray of Seaforth, and Janice
Murray and Harry Jansen of Seaforth. Cherished
grandmother of Michael and Tricia Murray of
Brookside, Nova Scotia, Shannon and Jim Aarts
of RR#2 Lakeside, and Brendan Murray of St.
Marys. Great grandmother of Sinead and Liam
Murray, and Aidan and Madison Aarts.
Predeceased by son Michael Murray, and by her
parents Joseph and Marie Hickey. Friends were
received at the Box and Smith Funeral Chapel, 47
High St., Seaforth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial was held at St.
James Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth, on
Monday, November 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. Father
Christopher Gillespie officiated. Interment St.
James Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy
memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society or the Seaforth Community Hospital
would be greatly appreciated. Parish prayers were
held at the funeral home Sunday at 9 p.m.

Jeff Coombs, and Al Chesney.
