Event honours. Cavan United Church couple
Cavan United Church had
Gloria Wilbee as their wor-
ship leader on Sunday. Her
reflection was "A Return to
Love." She again contributed
two musical numbers.
Greeters and collectors were
Jim and Ruth Axtmann. Rev.
Gould is expected back next
week. Coffee and muffins
after church has also
resumed.
An enjoyable evening was
held on Sat. at Cavan when
Rev. John and his bride
Natalie were honoured. A
bounteous potluck started the
evening's program. After
everyone had their fill of food
several people disappeared
only to reappear as partici-
pants in a mock wedding. The
costumes were hilarious and
the dialogue added to the
comedy. Jim Rapson did an
excellent job as the minister
as did Bud Eyre as the bride's
mother. All other attendants
played their characters well
too. Maja Dodds gave a
delightful reading .about a
"Water Closet." The children
of the Sunday School sang a
familiar song. Irma Pryce was
the M.C. John and Natalie
were presented with a gift
and each thanked the church
members for the evening and
the gift. A social get -
acquainted time followed.
Don Dodds attended the
University of Western
Ontario Fall Convocation
Oct. 27. Don and Maja's
daughter Lynne Godkin,
received her Master of
Education Degree at the cere-
mony taking place at Alumni
Hall.
Leo Zimmer from
Vancouver recently paid a
surprise visit to his sister and
brother-in-law Cathy and Les
Glanville. During the 10 days
he was here he celebrated his
65th birthday with family and
also toured and visited people
in London and Windsor.
