aNCOMEND
Grant Bolton, a Grade 10 student at
Central Huron Secondary School, will be com-
peting at the WOSSA cross country meet after
placing 12th at a Huron Perth regional meet
on Thursday.
"Grant cut 20 seconds off his time from the
week before, even though he placed 10th at
that meet," said his coach Tracy Weston.
"He competed against the same kids but
everyone picked it up a few notches because
they knew they had to be in the top 15 to get
to WOSSA," she said.
Bolton, who lives in the Seaforth area, com-
peted in the junior boys' category and
is the only member of the 10 -member
CHSS team to move on to the WOSSA
meet.
Caleb Ringgenberg, who is also from
the Seaforth area, placed 24th in the
junior boys' category. He knocked a
minute and a half from his previous
time.
Five runners in the midget boys' cat-
egory included Darin Dick and Jade
Maxwell, both of Seaforth, Tony
Zembashi, Eric Hausen and Stebastian
Keller.
"They all did well but they needed to do a
little better to qualify for WOSSA. It's a grow-
ing year for our team," says Weston.
Other competitors from CHSS included
Keegan Johnston, who came 19th in the
senior girls' category, Ryan Grozier, who came
25th in the senior boys' category and
Christina Zembashi, who competed in the
junior girls' category.
Weston said she is hoping the cross country
team will grow in numbers next year since
other schools have sent as many as 104 run-
ners.
