Council agrees on new light for Brussels Arena

Huron East council voted to
move ahead with the installation
of a street light for the parking lot
in front of Brussels Arena, Oct. 4.
Public Works Coordinator John
Forrest told council members he
estimates the work will cost
$2,700. He can purchase the poles
directly, which will cost $700. The
entire cost for the project will be
covered by the Brussels street light
reserve.
There have been numerous com-
plaints over there not being enough
light on the north end of the build-
ing.
Currently there are two lights on
the arena, but they only Light up the
sidewalk, not the parking lot.
"I think it's a well used building
that needs a lit parking lot," Forrest
told council.
They plan to put the light pole
directly out front of the arena
entrance just off the paved area.
