St. Columban has new principal, vice principal
Sept. 6 wasn't
just the first day
of school for
hundreds of kids

It also marked
the first day for
new principal
Dawne Boersen
and vice-princi-
pal Pam Robson,
who will run
both St.
Patrick's in
Dublin and St.

busy few weeks
for the two, who
were assigned to
the new posi-
tions in mid-
August, just
weeks before the
start of the
school year.
But as
Boersen says,
the staffs at
both schools
were so strong,
and patient with
both of them,
everything 'is
now up and run-
ning.

Adam and Emily Agar
John and Bonnie Reimers and Mervyn and Maureen Agar
are eery pleased to announce the marriage of their
children, Emily and Adam. The wedding took place on
Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church In
Brodhagen and the reception followed at the Seaforth Golf
and Country Club. The Man of honour and soloist was Mc
Reimers, brother of the bride. Best man was Curtis Agar,
brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Seth Malina, friend
of the bride and groom and flower girl was Mika Malina,
goddaughter of the bride and groom. Masters of Ceremony
were Julie and Sarah Agar, sisters of the groom. Readers
were Kerry Chapman, Lauree Wheatley and Vince Trocchi,
all friends of the couple. Adam and Emily now
reside in Brodha en.
"I'm beginning

on things, orga-
nized, and used
to the schedule,"
says Robson.
Boersen
replaces newly
appointed prin-
cipal Judy
Merkel, who
began a mater-
nity leave Sept.
1. Former vice-
principal, Leasa
Barclay,
resigned, open-
ing the door for
Robson.
Boersen grew
up in the
Ingersoll area,
where she
attended school.
She married into
the Stratford
area, where she
still lives. Her

finishing her
schooling. From

lege and her
Masters in spe-
cial education.
Robson says
she wanted to
teach because
she was always
interested in
cognition and
learning.
"I am particu-
larly interested
in how teachers
can alter their
instructions so
all students can
learn," she says.
"And as a VP, I
get the chance to
work with the
teachers in that
way."
Boersen says
working with
kids livens up
her day.
"There's just

When asked
what the best
part of the new
job is, Robson
summed up the
feelings for both
woman by say-
ing, "it's having
the opportunity
to affect a large
number of stu-
dents."
Boersen says
following this
school year she
will consider
many different
career options,
and does see
herself possibly
finding another
principal job.
Robson is also
open for oppor-
tunities, and
says she would
welcome the pos-
sibility of a prin-
cipal position
down the road.
