Residents andguests thrill
to sounds of the bagpipes
.Where has the time gone?
Leaves are sporting their
brightest colours and chil-
dren are back to school.
We at the Seaforth Manor
Retirement Home have continued to enjoy the
nice weather.
On Sept. 8, the residents and guests thrilled
to the sound of .the bagpipes, a music which is
always appreciated.
On Sept. 13, we held the diners' club dinner
and dance. We enjoyed the Old Time Staffa
Band following dinner.

Foot care clinic was
held Sept. 27 as well as a
euchre party in the after-
noon.
During the month of
September, we mourned the loss of Boyd
Driscoll who was a fond friend to many of our
residents.
We welcomed Mary Connolly to the retire-
ment home; it is good to have her with us.
Don't forget Bea Kale and her quilters are
ready for you to join in making a quilt ready
for the Christmas bazaar.
Over $340 raised during
annual coffee break
for Alzheimer Society
Queensway Nursing and
Retirement Home residents,
staff and volunteers were
pleased with the success of
our annual coffee break for
the Alzheimer Society of
Huron County held on
Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Over $340 was raised for
the Society. Auxiliary volun-
teers served coffee, donuts
and timbits from 10 a.m. till
noon and then in the after-
noon musicians Ken Wilson
and Fred James of Goderich
provided music for the after-
noon coffee break from 2
until 3 p.m.
Pastor Dave Williams of
Thames Road, Elimville
United Churches led worship
at Queensway Tuesday after -

noon with Belva Fuss as vol-
unteer pianist. Several mem-
bers of Pastor Williams' con-
gregation joined us for the
service.
Fifteen seniors attended
the senior dining program
Thursday evening and joined
residents afterwards for the
birthday party with enter-
tainment by Don Finkbeiner
on piano, Harold Mills play-
ing accordion and fiddle and
Harvey Smith singing many
old favourite songs accompa-
nying himself on guitar.
Birthday celebrants were
Ed Galloway, Violet Durnin,
Marg Prudum, Mildred
Gingerich, Robert Wein,
John Nogalo, Virginia Pack
and Ross Jacques.
Several family members
were in Sunday to visit and
attend the afternoon tea.
Piping hot tea, coffee and
delicious fresh baked cookies
and zucchini loaf was served.
Residents also benefitted
from Lori Burt, registered
massage therapist who pro-
vides her services at
Queensway each Monday,
Lisa Stewart, music therapist
is in on Friday, as well as
manicures, reading, exercis-
es, coffee and current events
and games.
