Optimist Club spends $10,000 on diamond upgrades
By Jeff Heuchert
Expositor Staff
Ten thousand dollars worth
of repairs are underway at
the Optimist ball park.
The diamond will be
resurfaced, which includes
scraping the infield, and
filling in the low points in the
outfield.
The decision comes after
the Optimist Club lost one of
Love Jillian, Darryl,
Family & Friends
its men's ball leagues, due to
the condition of the field.
The work began last week
and is expected to finish by
mid-October.
President of the Seaforth
Optimist Club Kevin
Loughnane says the
restoration of the park would
not have been possible
without help.
