' Optimist Club spends $10,000 on diamond upgrades By Jeff Heuchert Expositor Staff Ten thousand dollars worth of repairs are underway at the Optimist ball park. The diamond will be resurfaced, which includes scraping the infield, and filling in the low points in the outfield. The decision comes after the Optimist Club lost one of Love Jillian, Darryl, Family & Friends its men's ball leagues, due to the condition of the field. The work began last week and is expected to finish by mid-October.
