Fun at Ciderfest
Spectators watch as Brad McBride(above)
feeds wire into his home-made hay press
during Ciderfest Sunday afternoon. The wire'
wraps around the hay, coming out of the
machine in tiny cubes, barely even one
pound in weight. The machine took him
three years to build.
Five-year-old Oliver Papple(left) practises
grinding some corn with the picker sheller
during Ciderfest. The old-fashioned tool was
popular among children throughout the day.
Winthrop couple spend week at IPM
The theme
for Sunday's
service at
Cavan United
Church was "Lord Help Me
Keep My Life in Balance."
Carol Hunt led the service
with Joan Stewart, John
Adam, Connie Trotter and
Joyce Hugill from Northside
in the absence of Rev. John.
Greeter was Grace
Dolmage and the offering was
received by Grace and Eric
Anderson.

Next Sunday, Oct. 2, there
is no service at Cavan but we
are invited to attend the World
Wide Communion Service at
Egmondville at 11 a.m.
Natalie and Rev. John
Gould were married on
Saturday in impressive
ceremony.
Don and Maja Dodds spent
the week at the plowing
judge.
Bob and Ruth Campbell,
along with their children,
spouses and grandchildren
spent the weekend camping at
Family Paradise. The weather
was beautiful until Sunday
when it rained but a good
time was had by all.

Linda Dillion, from Goderich, could not stop in time Saturday afternoon and crashed into
her husband, Larry's jeep. She was following him as he headed for Kitchener, east on
Goderich Street. Larry had stopped for a car that was turning left into the Seaforth
Community Hospital. The car was a gift to his wife just under a year ago.
