Seaforth bowlers win
men's pairs tourney
Two Seaforth
bowlers, Tom
Phillips and Jim
Smith won the
Seaforth Lawn Bowling
men's pairs tournament held at the Seaforth
Greens on Saturday, sponsored by the
Goderich Lawn Bowling Club. Tom and Jim
won every game with a high score.
Other Seaforth winners were Neil Beuerman
and Keith Snell, third; Fred Tilley and Erich
Matzold, fifth, and Gar Baker and Steve Hook,
sixth.
On Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Mitchell, Lee
Ryan and Kevin Rumig won third in the
Culligan Real Estate tournament while Jack
Muir and Steve Hook won the consolation
prize.
Bowling in Lucknow on Sunday Rick Wood
and Jean Shillington won fifth and Dave
Ducklow with Sheila Long took the
consolation.
The Lawn Bowling season is fast winding to
a close and Seaforth will host their last
tournament on
Wednesday,
sponsored by
Whitney-Ribey. It
will be a men's pairs tournament and the
ladies of the club will be serving a hot meal at
noon, which makes this a popular event that is
always well -attended.
Coming up on Oct. 1 will be jitney bowling,
weather permitting, and the presentation of the
Terry Ford award to the most improved new
bowler or bowlers.
Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. will be the last
social for the season with a potluck supper and
cards or bowling after.
The fall annual meeting will be held on
Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. at the club house.
President Rick looks for all members to attend
if possible as your input is important. It takes
everyone working together and doing their
share so that we can really say we have had
another successful year.
