"We're always hoping
for more volunteers - you
don't have to be a director
to help out. Maybe next
year, more will want to
come along and help," says
Hicknell-Feeney.
She adds that the
Agricultural Society will
be discussing whether or
not to start charging
admission to the fair to
help pay for the $14,000 in
prize money given out each
year.
"Raising that prize
money is why we hold a
craft show and dance every
year but it's getting harder
to meet those expenses,"
she says.
"Pretty well all the other
fairs have admission these
days and I'm not sure how
long ago we stopped
charging. It's an issue that
will be discussed," says
Hicknell-Feeney.
