To see our youth perform so well gives us complete confidence that our community is going to be in good hands for many years to come. Add the choir members who came from far and wide, to local musicians on keyboard, trumpet, percussion and fiddles and you have hymns and anthems pleasing to all ears. The final touch was guest speaker, Eleanor Wood of Troy, Ont. whose message, "Gone Fishing," gave us much to think about when presented with such enthusiasm, lots of humour and a sincere belief that God put us here to work, to dream and to relax so that we can enjoy the blessings which enter our lives every day. For the Worship Service Committee, it was a blessing to work with all of the above mentioned people whose respective contributions came together to provide a time of worship and reflection for the many folks who were in town to enjoy the "Come Home to the Reader thanks those involved in beautification of downtown To the Editor, I want to congratulate all those involved in the recent beautification of Seaforth's heritage Main Street. The new metalwork plant hangers are unique and we are very fortunate to have such a talented artist as Jim Dawe living and creating in our community. It is heartening to see that his vision is shared by both the BIA and the Huron East/Seaforth Community Development Trust which jointly funded this project. The hangers and baskets brimming with colourful flowers bring beauty to Main Street. An attractive downtown welcomes visitors and visitors bring their shopping dollars to our local businesses. Everyone wins! Sincerely, Nancy Kale Country" celebrations. In the end, the Seaforth Hospital Foundation is the beneficiary of your generosity with $963.87 raised. Thanks for your support, one and all. Sincerely Bruce and Marg Whitmore Bill and Doreen Strong Property owners should consider fencing in temporary pools, says building inspector By Jason MIddleton Expositor Staff As more and more temporary pools "come put of the woodwork," Huron East's building inspector said he's concerned with the number of them without fencing. Paul Josling said that although Huron East council decided last year that the temporary pools do not need a building permit, he suggested that pool owners should get a fence. Josling explained that because the pools are not permanent they do not fall under the bylaw and are not enforced. "I've talked to several Items valued over $12,000 stolen from Huron East garage Heron ()PP Sporting equipment, welding equipment and other tools, valued at a total of more than $12,000, were stolen from a garage just off of Third Street in Huron East sometime in the 10 days before July 26. Stolen from the garage were a set of King Cobra golf clubs with bag, Taylor - made drivers, a set of Titleist irons, two ultra. one orange crush and one Easton baseball hats and three hall gloves. Also stolen were one set of Oxy -Acetylene tanks and torches. Mig welder, helmet, Master craft miter saw. auto scanner, wrenches, Shop - vac, a drill. a 3/8 -inch 12 - volt impact gun and a chainsaw. As well. a Yamaha receiver, a DVD player and a Panasonic surround sound system were also taken. Anyone with related information is asked to call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers. Green house broken into in Seaforth A cash register, valued at $100, was stolen during a break-in at Amanda's Garden Centre off Goderich Street on July 3. Huron OPP report that the greenhouse had been forced open and older model Neige cash register was stolen. Anyone with related information is asked to call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers. other municipalities and that's the route they're taking as well," Josling said. Last summer, Josling said council noticed pools were popping up across the municipality. "We just couldn't keep up with them," said Josling, adding that a number of the pools could pop up over the weekend. "They are just springing up." According to Josling, a permit costing $50 for an above ground pool and $100 for an inground pool, is required when they are installed. Also, a five foot, non - climbable, self-closing, self - latching fence must be erected for permanent pools. Josling recommended that owners of the temporary pools install the same type of fence but added it was only a recommendation. "For your own safety and liability get them fenced," Josling said. "A fence is really inexpensive, when you consider a child's life." "I agree a fence is maybe expensive, but it's still the best route," he said. "Protect our children, protect our future." Josling said that the bylaw enforcement officers in Huron East keep an eye out for permanent pools without fencing, but only the building inspector can tell property owners to install a fence. So far this year, Josling said that he has had a few calls from people wanting to know if they need a building permit for the temporary pools and people complaining that fences should have to surround them. Prices on the temporary pools run from $50 — for a pool half a metre deep — to $1,000 — for a pool just over a metre deep. "They are really inexpensive pools," Josling said. The feature things would temporary pools many of the same a permanent pool have including ladders, filter systems and pool covers. rLAWN ESTIONS? vailableAtciu.unw nic Programs 4I IreedIvca, 524-2424 the Professionals - Don't you just love it when you fitted those fabulous little shops by mistake?
