It is our privilege to be chosen as the 2005 St. Columban valedictorians. Sitting here, many of us are looking back on the last few years of our lives. And in doing this we realize that after tonight many of us will move on and go our separate ways, probably never to be all together at one time again. But even though the last 10 years are over, it does not mean we will forget them. We'll always remember these years not only the greatest days of our lives, but also the toughest times we've ever had to endure. We will cherish the laughs we've shared and put all the hardships behind us. We'll hold dear the friendships that were created and know they'll last a lifetime. But focussing on this past year, our graduating year, we recognize how much we have all grown and changed, from the little kindergartens on their first day of school to the Grade 8 graduates on their last day. We've all learned so much, not only about assigned subjects in school, but also about each other and the surrounding world. We've learnt that no matter how difficult life may seem everything will turn out okay. And we know that although high school may appear frightening compared to St. Columban, we will get through it with the help of friends, family, and others. There are many things from our past years at St. Pats and St. Columban that will never be forgotten, such as: learning that being sent to the principal's office is not a good thing, walking around hand in. hand with the teachers at recess, our endless choir practices, moving on to the big school, the field trips we waited all year for, giving substitutes a hard time, HOU Mon. -Wed. 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thurs. 11 a.m.-10p.m. Fri. & Sat. 11 a.m.-11 p. As this chapter in our lives closes, and another one begins, we have to thank our principal and vice principal, teachers, support staff, parish priests, family members, and fellow peers for helping us along the way. But most of all we have to thank each other for friendships and good times, for support, but above all for just being there as fellow classmates. As each of us takes our own path, possibly leaving our old one, we'll think back on these past years, and we'll never forget each other or the times we spent together.
