Cassidy Flanagan, 12, of Seaforth, practises her backhand swing during a tennis lesson last Thursday with Hank
Binnendyk at the Seaforh tennis courts. Fellow students Kaitlyn Wilson, 14, and Brittany Flanagan, 15, wait their
turns. Binnendyk has close to 20 students, both adult and child, taking lessons this summer on Wednesday
evenings and Thursday mornings.
Carter and Thompson win Ontario Lawn Bowls
Association 2005 Pairs Championship
Congratulations to Carol
Carter (lead) and Maureen
Thompson (skip), of the
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
on winning the Ontario Lawn
Bowls Association 2005
Ontario Pairs Championship
held at the Burlington Lawn
Bowling Club Saturday and
Sunday July 2nd and 3rd.
The girls won all three of
their games Saturday and
their final on Sunday.
They will now advance to
the Canadian Championships
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
in Kitchener/Woodstock,
Ont. August 13-15, 2005.
Last week saw Seaforth
bowlers competing in out of
town tournaments. Three
teams bowled at St. Marys
July 1st with Jack and Marie
Muir taking first prize, Neil
and Donna Beuerman,
second and Rick Wood and
Jean Shillington winning
consolation. •
On Saturday in men's pairs
at Mitchell, Jack Muir and
Erich Matzold won third
while Fred Tilley and Keith
Snell won 5th.
Wednesday, July 6th will
be the annual Etue
Tournament mixed trebles at
the Seaforth Greens at 10
a.m. Friday evening, July 8th
will be optional singles being
played at the greens starting
at 7 p.m.
This is an interesting event
even for the spectators as it
can be quite challenging for
the men and ladies.
Friday evening at 5:45 p.m.
- 6:45 p.m. hot dogs and
hamburgers will be cooked
by our good chefs and all
bowlers are welcome.
If not competing in the

greens available for jitney
