Agar said that the
volunteers have began to
"come out of the woodwork."
On the website, an
itinerary of events will be
listed for Friday, Saturday
and Sunday of the event.
So far, Friday night will
offer the BIA Moonlight
Madness, an outdoor dance
featuring Fresh Horses and
fish fry at the Seaforth
Legion, a summer carnival at
the Agriplex and a United
Church food booth at
Tucker's corner.
Saturday's schedule
includes sidewalk sales
downtown, a flea market at
the Van Egmond House,
tours of the Cardno Opera
Hall, a hospitality tent at the
Legion offering Legion tours,
a Legion barbecue from noon
to 6 p.m., a Seaforth District
High School reunion from
12:30 to 3:30 p.m. featuring
different decades of
graduates changing on the
half hour and local talent.
Saturday will also offer a
skating club craft show at the
public school, an Agricultural
Society breakfast at the
Agriplex, a continuing
summer carnival, golfing at
the Seaforth Golf Club, a
seniors' dance featuring
Classic Country at the Legion
and a 50s dance featuring
Eddie and the Edsels at the
arena.
Sunday's schedule includes
breakfast at the Van Egmond
House, a community church
service at Northside United
Church at 10 a.m., lunch at
the Legion, a Lighthouse
Swing Band concert at 2 p.m.
at Victoria Park and a
Seaforth Cooperative
Children's Centre food booth
at the concert.
Events that continue on
Sunday are the Legion
hospitality tent, the public
show craft show, the
Agriplex carnival and
golfing.
The event will also feature
a hot air balloon ride which
will take riders on a tethered
ride up into the air.
Agar is also planning a
scarecrow decorating contest
for homes in Seaforth to help
decorate the town.
Entry forms for the contest
have been sent home with
elementary school students in
the area challenging them to
create a homecoming
scarecrow to display on their
property. The winner of the
contest will win $250.
"We want everybody to get
into the spirit of Come Home
to the Country," Agar said.
Community voices concerns
over lack of jobs, youth
services and transportation

"Our agencies are all
awesome and many don't get
money from the government
so we want to be able to keep
looking after them. But, if the
community tells us there's
specific areas of concern
we're not funding, that may
mean a shift in funding. The
agencies might have to look
at that too," she said.
In Seaforth, key issues that
were identified included the
lack of jobs and training,
orphan patients, the lack of
transportation, lack of
services for youth, a lack of
volunteers, the lack of a
communications
infrastructure, the difficulty
accessing services, the aging response in Seaforth. We saw
population, rural isolation, people trying to identify
the drinking water and the problems and also looking for
lack of post secondary ways to solve them. We want

"I think the health units
will do a good job," said
Huron County Health Unit
executive director Penny
Nelligan. "My concern is
making sure we absolutely
have adequate resources to
do it well."
A year ago, Huron's
municipalities were
wondering if they might have
to close their small
community halls since more
stringent water regulations
were demanding the
installation of ultraviolet
systems and weekly water
testing.
In a press release, the
Ontario government said that
it will financially support
health units with this change.
The new legislation comes
after extensive consultations
with drinking water experts
and with system owners and
operators across the
province.
