Agar said that the volunteers have began to "come out of the woodwork." On the website, an itinerary of events will be listed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. So far, Friday night will offer the BIA Moonlight Madness, an outdoor dance featuring Fresh Horses and fish fry at the Seaforth Legion, a summer carnival at the Agriplex and a United Church food booth at Tucker's corner. Saturday's schedule includes sidewalk sales downtown, a flea market at the Van Egmond House, tours of the Cardno Opera Hall, a hospitality tent at the Legion offering Legion tours, a Legion barbecue from noon to 6 p.m., a Seaforth District High School reunion from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. featuring different decades of graduates changing on the half hour and local talent. Saturday will also offer a skating club craft show at the public school, an Agricultural Society breakfast at the Agriplex, a continuing summer carnival, golfing at the Seaforth Golf Club, a seniors' dance featuring Classic Country at the Legion and a 50s dance featuring Eddie and the Edsels at the arena. Sunday's schedule includes breakfast at the Van Egmond House, a community church service at Northside United Church at 10 a.m., lunch at the Legion, a Lighthouse Swing Band concert at 2 p.m. at Victoria Park and a Seaforth Cooperative Children's Centre food booth at the concert. Events that continue on Sunday are the Legion hospitality tent, the public show craft show, the Agriplex carnival and golfing. The event will also feature a hot air balloon ride which will take riders on a tethered ride up into the air. Agar is also planning a scarecrow decorating contest for homes in Seaforth to help decorate the town. Entry forms for the contest have been sent home with elementary school students in the area challenging them to create a homecoming scarecrow to display on their property. The winner of the contest will win $250. "We want everybody to get into the spirit of Come Home to the Country," Agar said. "I think the health units will do a good job," said Huron County Health Unit executive director Penny Nelligan. "My concern is making sure we absolutely have adequate resources to do it well." A year ago, Huron's municipalities were wondering if they might have to close their small community halls since more stringent water regulations were demanding the installation of ultraviolet systems and weekly water testing. In a press release, the Ontario government said that it will financially support health units with this change.
