BCH juveniles capture 'BB' OMHA title
On Friday, March 25, the
BCH Juveniles travelled to
Tilbury to capture the OMHA
Juvenile "BB" championship.
Before the game had even
started it was incredible to
see the many fans that came
to support and cheer on the
Ice Dogs.
The game started with
much anticipation to see who
would get the first goal. After
the first 15 minutes of play
the game remained scoreless.
With 21 seconds gone into
the second period the Ice
Dogs' Kyle Courtney
deflected a shot from the
point with assists going to
Nick Vanderburg and Kevin
Snieder to go up by one.
After the "Boston Slide"
celebration from the "kid
line" the game remained
tight until the last minute of
the second period when Nick
Jansen tipped a shot from the
point assisted by
Vanderburg.
Just 40 seconds later the
Ice Dogs struck again with
Mike Wise scoring after
receiving another great pass
from Vanderburg.
The Ice Dogs wrapped up
the second period with a 3-0
lead with goalie Layne Lavis
standing his ground.
Tilbury made it interesting
when they scored a goal
four minutes into the third
period.
From then on the Ice Dogs
stepped up and demonstrated
once again that they are the
best Juvenile "BB" team in
Ontario by taking control and
showing how this team had
Correspondents
the discipline and heart to
wrap up each playoff series in
only three games.
The BCH Ice Dogs won the
game 3-1 "without debacle."
According to Ice Dog's
Curtis Blake, "This team
doesn't know what game.four
is!"
The Ice Dogs proved that
when you play as a team your
goals can be achieved and
you can go 15-0 in the
playoffs to capture the all -
Ontario title.
