He had a loving nature and a heart as pure as gold, He always had a smiling face and a story to be told, A wonderful sense of humour and a twinkle In his eye, A helping hand in time of need on that you could rely. Maybe we can't touch his hand or see his smiling face, And maybe we can't hear his voice or feel his warm embrace, But something we will always have tucked safely in our hearts, Our love for him, his love for us, will never let us part. - Lovingly remembered by Shirley Preszcator, Harold and Pearl McCallum, Lloyd and Shirley Regele and Families 46-11x1 (1 1 `s--1 JULY 29-31. 2005 www.townofseaforth.ca 1(;. The questions they ask about you, Make it difficult for the tears to hide. They help me plant flowers and pick out the weeds, Their silence Is so sweet. For a Grandma they never even knew, But someday hope to meet. Sometimes I think It's so unfair, Because you're not here to share in their love. But then I realize God had a differ- ent plan, Every child needs an Angel to watch over them from above. So Grandma, we're sending hugs and kisses to you, We do it every day. Keep watch over us from Heaven above, And in our hearts you'll always stay. - xoxo from Meg and Madie and Grant and Tammy McKellar 46-11-1 17. Bernie MacLellan (Huron East) wondered if the pro- posal was simply a county attempt to download cost and responsibility to the lower tier. "We don't like it when the province does it to us, why are we doing it to the lower'tiers?" he asked. County council discussed a recommendation that some low-volume bridges, that are not near county roads, should be given to local municipalities. The cost of maintaining some of those bridges in the future may be prohibitive, said engineering technolo- gist Mike Alcock. Past Warden Bill Dowson (Bluewater) spoke against the recommendation as it stood. "I have to strongly speak against this until some homework is done," he said. Coun. Rob Morley (South Huron) said county council- lors need more information on which bridges were being considered for trans- fer. Coun. Ken Oke (South Huron) spoke strongly 'against the transfer of bridges, saying the county had the expertise for bridges and if the county wasn't prepared to keep that responsibility they could download everything. "If we don't want to take responsibility let's take the whole works (and give it up)," he said. "It looks to me (like) a straight down- load." MacLellan said "I would like to see an actual list and location" of the bridges. He said there should also be estimates of when the bridges would need repair and how much that might cost. Coun. Ben Van Diepenbeek (Ashfield- Colborne-Wawanosh) said the recommendation was not for all bridges, only those in the middle of a township. "I think we need discus- sion ... I think we've had a good discussion but we need more information, that's pretty obvious," he said. County council defeated the motion to accept the transfer of bridges. MDHS teacher elects to go to trial this July A Mitchell District High School teacher charged with three counts of sexual exploitation has elected to go to trial. Trial dates of July 13 and 14 have been selected and both days are expected to be needed to complete the mat- ter. The trial will take place in a Stratford court. The accused was arrested and released with condi- tions after a bail hearing Nov. 24. An investigation by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began after complaints from girls alleg- ing sexual wrongdoings. Community Calendar WED. MAR. 16 10:00 - 11:30 o.m.
