HART, Gladys Marguerite: At
Seaforth Manor Nursing Home on
Saturday, March 12, 2005, Gladys
Marguerite Hart of Seaforth and for-
merly of Mitchell, in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of F. Leslie Hart. Dear
mother of Gloria and her husband
Keith Wilbee, Walton. Loved grand-
mother of Kevin and Mark Wilbee,
Walton. Marguerite was born June
19, 1916 in Mornington Township,
Ontario. She was the only child of
Omar and Gertrude Hastings. On
May 22, 1948 she married Frank
Leslie Hart at the Listowel
Presbyterian manse. In 1961 the
Hart family moved to Mitchell open-
ing a Texaco gas station and coffee
shop restaurant at the east end, a
favourite meeting spot for many for
17 years. Assisted by her mother,
Marguerite made homemade meals
that many enjoyed. In her later
years she enjoyed camping, walk-
ing, reading and knitting for her two
grandsons. Marguerite was a resi-
dent of the Seaforth Manor for eight
years. Mrs. Hart was a member of
First Presbyterian Church,
Seaforth, Rebekah Lodge of The
International Order of Oddfellows,
Listowel, and a member of the
Seaforth Legion. Dear sister-in-law
of Maurice and Ilene Hart, Killam,
Alberta, Vera Flood, Woodstock,
Melvin and Helen Hart, Point Clark,
Agnes Lucarz, North Battleford,
Saskatchewan, Lloyd and Beulah
Hart, Kitchener and Doreen
Bradbury, Mitchell. Also survived by
several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Omar
and Gertrude (Mundell) Hastings
and brothers-in-law Robert Flood,
Edward Lucarz and Leslie
Bradbury. Family will receive
friends at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street
West, Seaforth from 12:00 noon
until the time of the funeral service
at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17.
