ANNUAL MEETING
The 129th Annual Meeting of the Usborne & Hibbert Mutual
Fire Insurance Company will be held at the Kirkton-
Woodham Community Centre at 2:00 p.m. on Monday,
February 28, 2005 for presentation of the Annual Report for
2004, to elect Directors and to transact any business that may
rightly come before the meeting.
Nominations will be received for the election of two
Directors for a three year term. The Directors whose term of
office expires are Ron Feeney and Mike 0 Shea, both of
whom are eligible for re-election.
Notice is hereby given that motions will he presented at our
Annual Meeting amending the by-laws of the Company as
follows:
Article 33 - Remuneration
Article 21 - Any person wishing to seek election or re-elec-
tion as a Director must file his intention to stand for election
in writing with the Secretary Manager of the Corporation at
least ten days in advance of an Annual Meeting or Special
General Meeting called for the purpose of electing Directors.

Saturday will also offer a
skating club craft show at the
public school, an
Agricultural Society
breakfast at the Agriplex, a
continuing summer carnival,
golfing at the Seaforth Golf
Club, a seniors' dance
featuring Classic Country at
the Legion and a 50s dance
featuring Eddie and the
Edsels at the arena.
Sunday's schedule
includes breakfast at the Van
Egmond House, a
community church service at
Northside United Church at
10 a.m., lunch at the Legion,
a Lighthouse Swing Band
concert at 2 p.m. at Victoria
Park and a Seaforth
Cooperative Children's
Centre food booth at the
concert.
Events that continue on
Sunday are the Legion
hospitality tent, the public
show craft show, the
Agriplex carnival and
golfing.
Agar says advance tickets
for the dances and the fish
fry will become available in
April.
Events that could still be
offered but haven't yet been
confirmed include hot air
balloon rides and a weekend
ball tournament at the Lions

"The weekend is getting
pretty full but we'd still
welcome more events from
anyone else," says Agar.
"Keep watching the
website for the new events to
be added as time goes on,"
she says.
And, for anyone who
doesn't have access to the
internet, Agar says a
complete itinerary for the
festival will be published in
the Huron Expositor in April,
along with posters displayed
downtown.
"It's going to be a lot like
the Homecoming 10 years
ago but a little bit different.
We also want to see some
new faces so they can see
what Seaforth has to offer,"
she says.
Twenty sites chosen for Open Doors
Historic sites in Seaforth and Brussels to attract provincial tourists

Ten sites have. been chosen
in Seaforth and Brussels to
be included in the province's
Open Doors guide for
tourists throughout Ontario,
says Huron East economic
development officer Ralph
Laviolette.
And, while those 20
locations will be featured in
the provincial brochure.
Laviolette says he will be
creating local brochures that

The Ontario guide for
Open Doors has a

throughout the province.
Open Doors will be held in
Seaforth on the Sunday of
the Come Home to the
Country Festival planned for
July 29-31. The Open Doors
event will also be held on the
Monday, Aug. 1 in Seaforth.

and others to attract visitors

Volunteers
needed
to keep
Block Parent
program
running

"If it continues. there
needs to he fundraising,
school education and
recruiting along the school
routes. There needs to he a
committee to do this,"
Rooyakkers says.
The Block Parent
program is Canada's largest
volunteer -run child safety
organization with over
300,000 volunteers
throughout the country. It
provides a network of
homes that are places of
safety for someone who is in
a dangerous or frightening
situation.
