Hitmen head for national
tournament in March

The Seaforth Hitmen hit their
mark again after qualifying for
their fourth Canadian Juvenile
National Broomball
Championships in six years.
At the national qualifying
tournament held recently in
Stroud (near Barrie), the Hitmen
won five games and lost one.
'The boy's were going up there
with the attitude that they had a
chance of whaling," fawn head
coach Robert Hunking said.
"They played good broomball
and they did what was necessary
to win."
Hunking said that during the
tournament the team's theme
song became Leaving on a
Jetplane because they thought
they were going to win and fly to
Alberta.
By placing first in the
tournament the boys - aged 16 to
19 - reserved a spot in the 14th
Canadian Juvenile National
Championships in Leduc,
Alberta. in March.
In 2000, 2001 and 2002 the
Seaforth Hitmen placed first at the
Canadian Juvenile National
Broomball Champtionships.
"I'm excited about going, but
the paperwork and legwork is an
awful lot (of work)," Hunking
said
A meeting was held recently to
discuss possible ways to fimdraise
for the trip to Alberta.
