of the Planning Act to receive input on a proposed amendment
to the Central Huron Official Plan. The public meeting will be

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE PROP66ED AMENDMENT
Revision to the Agricultural Lot Size Policy
The current minimum size of agricultural lots in Central Huron
Official Plan is 30 hectares.
The Municipality of Central Huron Council proposes to amend
the agricultural lot size provision to permit smaller agricultural
lots when the present owner purchased two or more lots of 21
hectares, and the farm parcels have merged. In this situation the
proposed Official Plan amendment would permit a severance to
recreate the previous farm parcel, so long as each parcel has a
minimum lot size of 21 hectares.
This amendment applies to all lands designated Agricultural in
the West Ward (former Goderich Township) and part of the East
Ward (former Hullett Township) In the Municipality of Central
Huron.

Residents enjoy
fun and fitness
The all
important
Queensway Nursing Home
Fun and
Fitness
started the week off at
Queensway Monday morning.
Residents laboured through the
repetitions hoping to work off
some of the extra Christmas
treats and eggnog everyone has
been enjoying.
In the afternoon a relaxing
time was spent at Library
Hour.
Breakfast group met
Tuesday morning with
volunteer Lillian Beer
assisting. Residents dined on
eggs made to order, crispy
bacon, toast, slices of melon,
juice and lots of piping hot
coffee and tea. The
combination of eight residents
around the oak dining table
makes for interesting
conversation.
Pat Dobbs led worship
Tuesday afternoon with a
service of lessons and song.
Choir members Betsy
Rowcliffe and Don McCaffrey
assisted and Belva Fuss was
volunteer organist.
Euchre enthusiasts played
their favourite game in the
dining room Wednesday
afternoon with volunteer Marg
Cole in attendance. Several
residents also benefitted from
manicures and fresh polish in
preparation for the special
Christmas events.
Coffee and
current
events
drew a good crowd Thursday
morning as the local weeklies
and daily papers were perused
and residents were kept abreast
of the happenings in the
community.
In the afternoon several
ladies baked and decorated
sugar cookies and discussed
the amount of baking that used
to be completed for the
Christmas season.
Friday evening the
Retirement Home lounge was
filled with the wonderful music
of Harvey Smith and friends.
Volunteer Edna Dietz was also
in attendance to assist residents
and help serve refreshments.
Saturday afternoon
Queensway was filled to
capacity with residents, their
families and friends for the
Christmas party and dance
with John and Geneva
Heaman.
John and Geneva had a brief
break in the middle of their
program while volunteer Belva
Fuss played piano to
accompany residents in the
singing of Christmas carols.
A very jolly Santa Claus
also paid a visit while delicious
Christmas treats, eggnog, hot
apple cider and cranberry juice
were served by auxiliary
volunteers.
Dublin says farewell
to Father Charbonneau
During
Sunday
morning
mass,
followed by a huge happy
get-together in St. Vincent de
Paul parish hall, a large
group of people said farewell
to Father Charbonneau.
After five and a half years
at both Mitchell and Dublin
churches, he is heading for
Gander Newfoundland for
two years.
• After the mass was
completed, the young
children gave their part to
show their love and skill and
they presented this to our
pastor. Susan Christie (in the
name of the parish) also
presented Father
Charbonneau with a gift.
Many St. Vincent de Paul
ladies were working in the
church hall setting up a
delicious cake and luncheon
to the enjoyment of the
people who attended.
Father was then heading
Dublin
for St.
Patrick's
Church,
Dublin, for
a mass and a celebration
there.
In the interim, Father Chris
Quinlan (newly retired) will
be taking over until the end
of January, 2005. Then our
new pastor, Father-Dewan
will be taking over in Dublin
and Mitchell.
St. Patrick's C.W.L. raised
$600 at their bake sale.
Frank Kistner, of Dublin,
husband of Ann Kistner, died
over the weekend.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Christmas is more than
carols and stars,
It's more than glitter and
shine,
Christmas is love and
peace and goodwill,
That dwell in your heart
and mine.
Merry Christmas,
everyone.
