Hockey camp
to challenge

By Jason Middleton
Expositor Editor
Hockey players aged six
to 13 will have an
opportunity to learn about
power skating, stick skills,
puck control and dry land
training during the
Christmas break at this
years Hockey Skills Camp
at the Seaforth and District
Community Centre.
This year, OHLers Tyler
Doig, of Seaforth, and Cal
O'Reilly, of Brucefield,
and Blyth's Justin Peters,
who was recently drafted
by the Carolina Hurricanes
will all hit the ice and help
teach kids some new skills.
"They all just love to
come out and be on the ice
and enjoy the kids," said
Hockey Skills Camp
organizer Kathy Huether.
"It's wonderful to see them
give back to the
community."
Coorganizing the camp is
St. Marys Lincolns Junior
B hockey players Luke
Vick and Mike
McLaughlin
"I think a lot of people
that went to this hockey
school were blown away
with the skill that was
taught last year," said
More than 60 children
participated in the Hockey
Skills Camp last year.
This year's camp, which
runs from 8 a.m. until 2
p.m., costs $75 and runs in
two sessions from on Dec.
20 to 22 or Dec. 27 to 29.
