Man charged with trafficking A 28 -year-old Central Huron man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and driving while under suspension after he was seen driving "strangely" through Seaforth on Nov. 12, reports the Huron OPP. A black 1990 Oldsmobile was stopped by police on Church Street shortly after midnight. Police learned the man was suspended for previous driv- ing offences and had an out- standing warrant from the Ottawa area. He was arrested and during a search a quantity of mari- huana valued at approximate- ly $2,000 was found. The man was held overnight and attended a bail hearing in Goderich later that day. He is scheduled to attend court in Goderich on Dec. 6. Van stolen in Seaforth A van was stolen from a Chalk Street driveway in Seaforth and thieves attempt- ed to steal a second van on East William Street in Seaforth sometime overnight on Nov. 13. Stolen was a burgundy 1995 Plymouth Voyageur, which was found later in the day abandoned at a parking lot in Stratford with a dam- aged steering column. During the attempted theft, an unlocked white 1993 Plymouth Caravan also had its ignition steering column damaged. Anyone with related infor- mation is asked to call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers. Brussels building receives $5,000 in damages More than $5,000 in dam- ages was done to a vacant commercial building on Turnberry Street in Brussels on Nov. 13 when it was bro- ken into sometime between 2 and 6 p.m. A neighbouring business owner had witnessed some people enter the building that afternoon thinking they were going to do some work inside. Later the front door was found smashed. Huron OPP Say the build- ing had smashed interior walls and several windows at the back were also smashed into the rear alleyway. Numerous beer bottles were found smashed on the floor inside the building. Huron OPP is presently fol- lowing up on a few leads to this case. Anyone with related infor- mation is asked to call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.
