In Memoriam BEUERMAN: In loving memory of our dear father, father-in-law and Papa, Alvin E. who was called home thirteen years ago, November 18, 1991. We long to see his kindly face, We long to see him smile, We long to see his tender eyes, And to sit by his side for awhile. We long to hold his hands in ours, And tell him how much we care, And how glad we are to know it was us, With whom his life he shared. No one will ever take his place, And no one ever can, Brighten our lives the way he did, This sweet and gentle man. - Memories for a lifetime. Loved for eternity. Your family. 46-47x1 BEUERMAN: In loving memory of Alvin Beuerman who passed away November 18, 1991. I often lie awake at night When the world is fast asleep. And take a walk down memory lane, With tears upon my cheek. The happy years I had with you, Are worth their weight in gold. The joy and laughter that you gave, Are mine to have and hold. - Lovingly remembered by wife Hazel. 46-47xlcc 47. Call the Seaforth Huron Expositor at 527-0240 THE HURON EXPOSITOR, NOV. 17, 2004 • III Three downtown Seaforth Businesses for sale From Page 1 to. "If we can find anyone to take over the store we'd give it to thetn," she said and explained that they would give up the shelving units and cash register. "We'd rather give it away than close it." Last week, one of Seaforth's dollar stores - Unusual Finds - closed its doors. Unusual Finds co- owner, Belinda Gibbons said that business in their store started drop- ping a year and a half ago. "It started way back, I think, with the high school closing," Gibbons, who runs another dollar store in Exeter, said. "(Since then) Business has just been slowly going down." As well, three other Main Street Seaforth businesses - Forbes Quoted 'We'd rather give it away than close it,'- Maurien Harburn, Sumthing Spacial co-owner Flower Magic, Stedmans and Travel Professionals International Travel Seaforth - are for sale. "These are viable businesses," said Laviolette. "It's just a question of being sold and picked up by some- body else." As part of his job, Laviolette showcases both Seaforth and Huron East to potential store owners looking to open shop in the area. He said that he has business owners interested in starting up commercial, retail and industrial businesses in town "I think Seaforth, Brussels and Huron East are in the same bag as most of Ontario is," Laviolette said about keeping and retaining businesses. Laviolette noted Seaforth isn't without its faults in regards to attracting new business. "The appearance of the town is not very welcoming," he said. "There are no visitor kiosks and no good sig- nage to direct people to the shopping area." Closing Stedmans would be a "sad situation" From Page 1 family. In Meaford, they will take over manage- ment of the existing Stedmans. Huard said that if the store were to close it would be sad because it has been open almost 80 years. "Being that it has been there for so long it does have a history," said Huard. "It would be sad if it did have to close." Huard said that if the store does close she will have to find a new job. "It's going to be a sad situation for the town," said Huard. Michelle said the clos- ing of the store could force people to shop out of NETWORK CLASSIFIEDSY "Advertise Across Ontario or Across the County" : ,:•111111111111111111.11111 Do you know a young person (aged 6-17) involved in worthwhile com- munity service, contributing while living with a limitation or performing an act of heroism? Business Improvement Area president Nancy Anstett said that the Deightons brought a lot to Seaforth's business com- munity. `They're definitely an asset to our Main Street," said Anstett. "They worked hard to build up their business and tried different things to make a go of it." Anstett said that if the store were to be closed it would leave a void in downtown Seaforth. "It would definitely bea big hole on Main Street," said Anstett. "It creates a lot of traffic flow which would be cut down consid- erably. "Nobody likes to see an empty store on Main Street."
