St. James cross country results
St. James School earned
two first place finishes at the
Huron -Perth board -wide
cross country meet at
Wildwood Conservation Area
last week.
"Our results were pretty
amazing this year for a
relatively small school. I
think these are the best
results St. James has ever
had," said coach Todd
Chisholm.
Ryan O'Reilly came first in
the 13 and over boys'
category against 55 other
runners while Becky Van
Doornik came first in the 13
and over girls'
category.against 46 other
runners.
Sara Kramers came third in
the 11 and 12 girls' category,
Connor Devereaux came
fourth in the 11 and 12 boys'
and Logan Lammerant came
sixth in the eight and under
boys' category.
Steve Parsons came sixth
in the nine and 10 boys',
Shannon O'Reilly came
eighth in the eight and under
girls', Robert Campbell came
11th in the eight and under
boys', Brittany Nigh came
1lth in the 13 and over girls',
Deanna Devereaux came
12th in the nine and 10 girls',
Don Nigh came 13th in the
11 and 12 boys', Colin Askett
came 13th in the eight and
under boys' and Luuk
Kemerik came 14th in the 13
and over boys.
Ninety-six students from
Avon Maitland cross country results
Two runners from Seaforth
PublicSchool finished first
and two finished second at
the Avon Maitland district
cross country meet held at
Mitchell's Upper Thames
Public School last Tuesday.
"The SPS students did very
well in their events," says
Robert Shepherd, who helped
to coach the Seaforth team.
"The conditions of
Tuesday were gruelling to
say the least - it was very
cold, damp and windy, with
no protection available for
the duration of the event," he
says.
Tabitha Arts and Paul
Doig, both running in the
midget category, came first in
the meet, which had
anywhere from 80 to 120
runners in each age category.
William Ringgenberg came
second in midget boys' while
Jon Shepherd came second in
junior boys'.
Seaforth's youngest runner
in the first race, Joe Geneau,
managed to get up from a fall
at the start and move from
dead last to 15th out of
several dozen boys.
Ben Bakker came fourth in
the midget boys' category,
Kaitlin Arts came seventh in
the junior girls', Ben
Shepherd came ninth in the
senior boys', Alison
Rowntree came IOth in the
intermediate girls', Nicole
McIntosh came 11th in the
junior girls', Chelsea
Tideswell came 15th in the
junior girls' and Joe Geneau
came 15th in the novice
boys' category.
SPS sent 23 runners to the
meet and. finished in the top
10.
