THOUGHT FOR TODAY Always tell the truth - then you don t have to remember anything. St. Columban their rounds. The weather co- operated, making it an enjoyable experience for all. Students from St. Columban School have been learning all about bus safety and evacuation. A special presentation by the OPP and Scruton Bus Lines allowed the students to practise the safe and diverse ways to evacuate the bus in the event that such a necessity might occur. The students learned how to evacuate the bus through the back door and the appropriate window. The school s volleyball teams are formed and are practising for the competitions ahead. There is a Grade 7 and 8 girls team and a Grade 7 and 8 boys team preparing for action. The recording session was held in the St. Columban School Library. with the help of Ted Schinbein, in preparation for the upcoming release of a Christmas CD from the students of both St. Patrick s in Dublin and St. Columban School. Each • grade will sing their own Christmas song led by the two schools music teacher, Francine Looby. This project is a great learning experience for all who are involved. The St. Columban School students got a head start on their Halloween festivities with a costume competition in which members of the student council judged each class for the funniest, the scariest and the most original costume in the class. There were many original scary characters in costume. The most popular celebrity character this season was Spongebob. The gym was decorated with skeletons and caution tape as the many costumed characters enjoyed a dance to end the celebration. •tet"* -rte- .r,•e•}•,-f elm •":0`,0•.......eyekrrro GIFTS & MORE 5TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SHOW & SALE Saturday, November 6th 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Mitchell Community Centre Adult: $2 5-12 yrs: $1 4& under: Free Quilting Kits.
