Queensway hosts family Thanksgiving dinner
On Oct. 3 family and
friends visited Queensway
to enjoy delicious
Thanksgiving meals with
their loved ones.
The beautiful, sunny fall
weather provided great
driving conditions for those
travelling from a distance.
After consultation with
both residents and their
family members a few years
ago the decision was made to
schedule the holiday family
meal at Thanksgiving rather
than Christmas.
Everyone has found it to be a
very positive 'change to not
worry about the weather or flu
season.
Family will be welcome to

The Huron County

community bank.
"You take out of it when

coordinator Joan Van den

A program unique to
Huron County, Van den
Broeck explained "it doesn't
belong to any one church or
community group. It belongs
to us all."
The Christmas bureau
accepts cash, new toys,
clothes and food to help to
make the Christmas season
bright for Huron County
children.
The program is a success
because families donate
when able and when families
are in need it provides the
extra help, she said.
Last year 1,083 children
were assisted through the
program and numbers are
expected to be similar again
this year.
The Huron County
Christmas Bureau was started
more than 40 years ago so
community churches and
