past has been an enjoyable
evening with its surprises.
Plans are in place for the
fish fry at the end of
August with entertainment.
Keep an eye out for future
ads.
I've been informed that the
Branch golf tournament (I'm
being politically correct) will
be held on Sept. 25 at the
Seaforth Golf Club. There
should be more information
in the near future at the
branch as plans get finalized.
The 75th anniversary
committee will have met this
past Monday evening re: the
drumhead service and any
future functions.
The parking lot party was
held last Saturday evening
and I can attest a good time
was had by all. It took many
hands to get things set up on
the weekend. Thanks to all
who took the time to help and
to those who did the
barbecuing, manned the bar
and ticket sales and the clean-
up crew.
A get well from the Branch

hospital, hello from all to our
shut-ins at home or at the
Manor and Maplewood.
They shall grow not old as

Leon and Mary Maloney
have returned home from a
visit with their son, Chris
and Ang Maloney in
Rochester, Minnesota.
Travelling by car, they
went around the "Chicago

Indiana and Minnesota.
They toured the Mayo
Clinic, including the heart
floor, where their daughter-
in-law, Ang Maloney, works.
Visiting Walnut Grove,
Minnesota, the home of
Laura Ingalls Wilder and
"Little House on the
Prairie," they enjoyed the
museum there. They
travelled also to the John
Deere factory in Waterloo,
Iowa and watched a chunk
of steel transform into an
engine. Another highlight
was the huge, elaborate
Cathedral of St. Paul in St.
Paul, Minnesota.
Leon and •Mary
experienced a big adventure
in Lanesboro, where the four
took a 10 -mile tour on a
four -person tandem bike,
following a twisting bike
path, complete with deer and
fawn. They also experienced
an eight -mile kayak trip in
the river there, with
sunshine, warm water and
beautiful scenery, including
trees and bush on both sides
of the river.
Travelling home through
Duluth, Minnesota and Sault
Ste. Marie, which are mainly
fishing and mining areas,
thcy marvelled at the
beautiful, never run out of
trees, scenery in Northern
Ontario, and the ferry ride
on the Chi-Chimaun.
