By Bethany Black
and Kyle Griffiths
Fellow graduates, teachers, parents, family
and friends,
It truly is a privilege to be chosen as the
valedictorians representing the Grade 8
graduating class of 2004 at the new Seaforth
Public School building.
Wow, it seems like only yesterday we
were entering our Kindergarten classrooms,
innocent of the journey that lay ahead of us.
Slowly step by step, we have met the many
changes and challenges that were presented
to us.
Graduation is a beginning, not an ending.
As we close the door to elementary school
the doors to high school open for us. We
must always remember to never lose sight
of our goals, choose them wisely and
carefully and then work with d: ermination
to accomplish all that you can. im higher
than you believe you can reac ; and you
will discover talents you neve i knew you
had.
Seaforth Public School has givin us many
memories that we will cherish he rest of
our lives. Not only have we be me more
knowledgeable but we were als given the
opportunity to participate in man activities
such as swimming, skating, skiff at Boler
Mountain and"Talisman, Cam Sylvan,
Camp Celtic and many more.
We entered Kindergarten nine yttrs ago as
strangers and over the yearslwe have
developed friendships we will always
remember. Although some of u; will be
going to different high schools ;ext year,
hopefully we will still remain in tch.
' Some of these friendships ll last -a
lifetime. Our class has experienced many
good times and we have also shared sad
times. It was our friendships that saw us
through all of these.
We would like to thank our many teachers
for their hard work teaching us the basics
which has prepared us for high school. You
have also taught us many life lessons which
we will use throughout our lives.
Our years in elementary school could not
have been completed without the many
volunteers who dedicated their time for our
well being. Thanks to our parents who have
always been there with their unconditional
love and support. You have encouraged us
to persevere and strive to reach our
potentials.
And a special thank you to Mrs. Reynolds
who always•goes above and beyond for her
students. '
In closing we have decided to share a
poem by Michelle Richards called Success
Has No Limits. ►
There are no limits
To what you can do.
Your talents and abilities,
Your uniqueness and warmth,
Your strength and dedication
In everything you do -
All of these will help you
Reach your dreams.
There are no limits
To what life has to offer you.
The world is full of possibilities,
Just as you are filled with promise.
Seek, discover and embrace your openness
The richness of experience.
Believe in yourself,
And you will always know success.

but we do love you. Here is a poem
andel called The Parents of a Graduate.
A great man once said "The three R's, Respect, Responsibility and
Radical effort is what I expect from 'you," even though we didn't
always live up to those expectations in the end we have all learned
something.
A long and strange journey it has been through St. James
Elementary School and now it nears its end. Through it all we have
met many wonderful people, from our classmates and teachers to our
principals and EA's, St. James has been good to all of us.
Through these years we have come to know one another very well
and the best word to describe our class is one Big Happy Family.
As we look forward to the future and moving on to high school we
will never forget each other and the memories that have been created.
From all the years we have been here grade eight has been the most
memorable and we have learned more about each other in the last
year but most importantly we have Teamed more about ourselves.
Starting with Mr. Chisholm also known as Chis, Chisholm and Mr.
C. He has taught us many things this year although not all
"educational." He has certainly made us feet more confident for not
only our journey into high school but also through life. He did this
through his stories, usually beginning with a long, long time ago
when I was your age....
Well we don't have time for that right now but I am sure if you ask
him he will be more than happy to inform you about his life
experiences. He has gotten to know each and everyone of us very
well and we have also been able to know him, from his athletic
ability which goes to support the old timers.
To his remarks about his own height problem. Speaking of height
heck half the class is taller than him.
Mark, just because he had to get Mrs. Van Dooren to get the books
off the top shelf doesn't mean that he is a bad teacher! He has taught
us many things this year and for that we will never forget him.
We will also never forget our classmates. We will never forget Jim
for his outstanding ability to play hockey as well as he does and no
matter all the criticism about the team he loves, he is always able to
stand tall and proud of who he thinks is the best, the Chicago Black
Hawks.
Then there comes Sarah Campbell who we will never forget for
always going through every day trying her best not to mess
something up or embarrass herself Even though most days she often
failed we love her for trying and always putting a smile on our faces.
Kyle Cronin known for his speed and agility which will bring him
future successes. His love of the Detroit Red Wutgs, broomball and
wrestling is what makes him stand out from the rest of us.
Then there comes Tricia Delchiaro known for her incredible
flexibility and love of gymnastics.
Her quiet nature makes her unique to the class but a blessing to Mr.
Chisholm.
Who can forget Kyle devries who is always trying to prove a point
in order to wilt back our lost gym periods that mean so much to us
and never making our classroom a boring place.
Dan Dwyer, who takes great pride in his hair and his dedication to
Brussels minor hockey is what makes him incomparable to everyone
else.
Then there is Brittany Flanagan who no matter what always
manages to put a smile on sotneone's face even if it is only her own.
Who we will always remember for her different sense of humour
and all of her other attributes that make her who she is.
Then there is Taylor who is known for not yet being 5 ft. tall. But
no worry what she lacks in height she makes up for with her
personality. She is a person that no matter what gets in her way she is
always ready for any adventure life has in store for her.
Another member of our classroom is Thbitha Gooding who we all
know as a very quiet and a loving aunt. With all of her nieces and
nephews she shows great responsibility and dedication to each of
them.
Then there is 'Mer who will always be remembered for his
incredible ability to burn CDs for every member in the class. He is
always there to lend a helping hand to everyone and we thank him for
that.
Will who is known for his amazing ability and even though he has
not been here that long he still made an impact of our class.
Kacie who helps us understand the goodness horses bring to our
world from her amazing love and interest toward them.
James who is always there to inform us about the score of the Leaf
game the night before even though the Detroit game was on. And
also his determination to still love them even though most of us
don't.
Brad who no matter what always has something to say which
makes his the great person he is. He makes our classroom a more
energetic place with his outstanding personality.
Nathan who even though is very quiet always has a smile on his
face which makes our classroom even better.
Congratulations
