Walton motocross results
Motocross racers line tip at the starting line at the Walton National Motocross Track on June
Twelve local riders attend
National Qualifier Series
Another season of
Motorcross geared up last
weekend as the Walton
National Motorcross Track
hosted the Walton Double
Header.
Twelve local riders were
among the expected 800
riders to attend the fourth
round of the Ontario
Provincial Championship and
the fourth round of the
Amateur National Qualifier
Series.
Local racers include Lucas
Godkin, of Walton. who
placed eighth in the 50cc for
ages 4-5 and 15th'in the 50ec
grand prix.
Devin Blake, of Walton.
placed 11th in the 125 Jr.
Mitchell Godkin. of
Walton, placed second in the
50cc for ages 4-5 and fourth
in the 50cc grand prix.
Cody Rapson, of Brussels,
placed 22nd in the 125
Beginner. William King. of
Brussels. placed 22nd in the
80kc for ages 13-16.
Jordan Van Veen. of Brussels,
placed seventh in the ATV Jr.
Bruce Godkin. of Walton.
placed fifth in the 250
Beginner. Wes Pennelton, Of
Brussels. placed 19th in the
125 Jr. Josh Joritsma, of
Brussels. placed 31st in the
125 Jr. Nick Dehrusk, of
Seaforth. placed 58th in the
125 Jr.
On Aug. 11 to 15. the
nwtorcross track will host the
Walton TransCan Grand
National Motocross
Championships.

Lawn bowlers take part in
season's first tournament
Seaforth
Lawn
Bowling
Club held their first
tournament of the season last
Wednesday. It was men's pairs
with 11 greens.
The winning team were
Ryan Bester, of Hanover with
Wayne Wright, of
Thamesford, (lead).
Seaforth's only winners
were Lee Ryan and Keith
Snell.
The District 4 Ladies fours
lawn bowling rink won the
provincial championship and
gold medal bowling in the
Ontario finals in Burlington
on the weekend. They now
qualify to advance to the
Canadian championships to be
held in Vancouver in August.
The rink includes Carol
Carter, lead, of Seaforth,
Diane Terry, second, of
Exeter, Gloria Mclalls, vice,
of Exeter and skip Joanna
Bugler, of Exeter.
Competition was extremely

amongst
the 16
districts
of Ontario.
Tuesday evening, the social
events committee of Neil and
Donna Beucrman and Rick
Woods hosted a burger and
dogs supper at the club with a
good number present•and
howling after. High howlers
for the evening wcrc Keith
Snell and Eileen Adamson.
In out-of-town tournaments
recently Jack and Marie Muir
won first at Stratford. Rick
Wood and Marg Ungarian
wcrc third at Clinton mixed
pairs and Neil and Donna
Beuerman were two -game
winners at Woodstock.
Saturday will he the Neil
Bell Memorial mixed pairs at
the Scaforth club and June 22
will he the June potluck
supper with Bea Stoll and
Bessie Boyd hosting with
euchre and bowling`after.
