Coaches' comment: St. Thomas leads 3-0 at end of first half due
to turnovers by home side and well finished chances by visitors.
In second half Tenna Larsen scores locals' first goal of season by
finish)ng on an 18 -yard shot assisted by Jessica Finlayson and
Meakhan O'Reilly. With 15 minutes remaining Larsen records
her second goal of game by heading a wonderful corner kick
from the boot of Erica Mahon into the net. Locals control
majority of possession in second half creating numerous chances
to draw the game even but run out of time. Excellent result
versus the defending Premier division champions
Next game Friday night in St.Columban versus Taxandria
(CUP Tournament preliminary) @6:30.

season begins
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
The Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club opened on
Monday, May 24 with a pot
luck supper at 5:30 p.m.
Twenty-six members and
associates were present and
hosting were Jack and
Marie Muir.
President Keith Snell
welcomed everyone and
Edna Waddington led in the
singing of grace.
Afternoon lawn bowling
was cancelled due to heavy
rain but euchre was played
following supper with
winners as follows: yellow
tickets high, Jack Muir;
lone hand, Neil Beuerman:
low, Marie Muir; white
tickets, high,Carol Baker;
lone hands, Marjorie Rock;
low, Marie Thomas.
The June pot luck supper
and social will be June 22
at 6 p.m. and hostesses will
be Bea Stoll and Bessie
Boyd.
Saturday, May 29 saw the
District 4 playdowns being
held at the Seaforth club.
Advancing to the next
round of provincials were
the Exeter ladies team of
Joanne Bugler (skip),
Gloria McFalls (vice),
Diane Terry (second) and
Carol Carter, of Seaforth
(lead).

on Wednesday, June 2 at 10
a.m. and Brussels is holding
a mixed pairs' tournament
Thursday, June 3 at 10 a.m.
The St. Marys club had to
cancel their Bert Wydeverr
Memorial last Wednesday
for men's pairs' as the
greens had had too much
rainfall.

Seaforth, August DeGroof of Goderich
and Florence Lacasse of London,
graduated May 20, 2004 from Pell City
High School. She received the
Presidential Excellence award for
graduating with a 93+ average and
receiving a 27/32 on her ACT exam
Adorning her as she receives her
diploma will be her Bea Club stole and
Beta Club President Medallion, Student
Government Medallion where.she
served as Secretary, an Honor Cord for
graduating in the top 16 of 213 students
in her class, the French National Honor
Society Cord, and a Key Club Medallion
for performing 50 hours of community
service this past year. Lori will he
pursuing a career in Forensic Sciences at
Gadsden State Community College and
later at the University of Alabama at
Birmingham, one of the most prestigious
medical schools in the Southeast. We are
so proud of all of Lori's
accomplishments.
