The Hensall and Community Horticultural Society was incorporated in 1984. To mark this milestone the Society has purchased sunflower seeds with the hope that everyone in the village will plant a few on their front lawn to help give the village a sunny glow this summer. The Village of Hensall will be holding their 20th annual Village Wide Yard and Garage Sale on Saturday, May 29 (always the last Saturday in May). Firemen's Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. at the fire hall, Kinette Perennial Plant and Yard Sale at 101 Richmond St S., Legion Penny Sale at 114 King Street, Tinker Tots "Krispy Kreme" Fundraiser at 112 King Street, Food Booth and Yard Sale at the Hensall United Church. Bean Counting Birthdays" is the theme of the 136th Annual Spring Fair to be held in the White Bean Capital of Canada. Also, the 120th birthday of the incorporation of the Village of Hensall will be celebrate on June 18 and 19. Events include homecraft and school displays, chicken BBQ, Travelling priest conducts parish mission in Dublin, Mitchell Dublin St. Patrick's, Dublin and St. Vincent de Paul, Mitchell held a very successful parish mission from Sunday, May 16 to Wednesday, May 19. Rev. Eugene O'Reilly - a priest who spends his life travelling around from one province to another, was enjoyed by all, telling us his background for the 32 years in the priesthood. At the end of the Mission, Father Charbonneau played his guitar and sang "May the Peace of the Lord be With You" as well as an "Irish Blessing."
