to promote sport to new players
By Susan Hundertmark

A series of
workshops a
held at the
arena over
the next
several
weeks in
hopes of
creating
enough
interest to
being a local
lacrosse
league, says
Steve Wolfe,
of the
Ontario
Lacrosse
Association.
Wolfe was
teaching lacrosse skills
to a dozen Seaforth-
area children Tuesday
night to promote the
sport.
"The potential to run
a local league looks
very good but the
parents are going to
have to organize it,"
said Wolfe.
He's running similar
workshops in Clinton,
Lucknow and Monkton.
While two clinics
have been held so far in
Seaforth, Wolfe said he
could continue to offer
several more if the
interest continues
locally. The first clinic
attracted close to 20
players.
Wolfe is in charge of
lacrosse
re being
Seaforth
promotions for the
OLA.
"If people come out,
we'll do it. We're going
week by week," he said.
The Tuesday night
clinic,
which runs
from 7 to
8:30 p.m.,
costs $5
per night.
" T h e
interest in
lacrosse is
really
growing. In
some
places, it's
taken over
from
soccer,"
