with music, worship and bingo
The month of April got off
to a great start at Maplewood
Manor with a lively afternoon
of music with the Staffa Old
Tyme band. Members of the
band included Ivan Norris,
John Zettel, Andrew Patrick,
Jim Delaney, Elgin Nott and
Dolly McQuaid.
Our weekly visits with
"Buffy" the St. John's
Ambulance therapy dog, and
her owner, George Jamieson,
continue to be enjoyed by our
residents.
Horticulture Club with
Eleanor Horst was busy as
Maplewood Manor
residents planted marigold
and sunflower seeds.
Everyone was amazed at how
fast they grew.
Joyce Lammerant visited
and led in a hymn sing with
residents. Father Lance,
Pastor Hildebrand, Rev.
Atkins and Rev. McCarthy
led in worship service during
the Easter season.
Easter morning residents
awoke to find that the Easter
bunny had paid a visit to
them. Residents also enjoyed
a delicious Easter dinner of
ham and scalloped potatoes.
Special hand treatments and
polished nails were the order
of the day when Margaret
Whitmore came for her
monthly manicure session.
Residents enjoyed piano
music played by Marjory
Papple and Bill Gibson. A
great way to spend an
afternoon.
Crokinole and bingo are
popular activities that
everyone looks forward to
with Charlie and Peggy
Perkins, Helen MacKenzie,
Beth Pryce, Velma
Preszcator, Delphine
Dolmage, June Martene and
Betty Hulley. Crafts with
Barbara Scott and Betty
Harris is always fun and
exciting making items for our
bazaar.
The month ended with a
special volunteer appreciation
dinner for those who so
willingly participate in our
activity program. We are
truly thankful for the caring
and dedication of this
wonderful group of people.
