Three young Seaforth
hockey players have a lot to
be proud of this season.
Greg McGrath and the
Junior C Wingham Ironmen
placed second in the Ontario
Hockey Association (OHA)
championship and Junior D
division the Exeter Hawks'
Joe Nesbitt and Darcy
McCutcheon became OHA
champions.

"It's just a McGrath
great feeling
knowing that you get that far
playing so much hockey and
it pays off in the end," said
Exeter Hawk Joe Nesbitt.
The Hawks were losing the
series 2-1 before winning
three straight games.
"I think it was the depth of
our team and our team has a
lot of heart. We had a lot of
perseverance to fight back
whether we were down or
not," said McCutcheon.
In the championship game,
the Hawks flew past the
Tavistock Braves 5-4.
This season the team was
underestimated. - "Our
assistant coach said people
were asking him, 'Why are
you coaching them?"
Nesbitt said that his team
became more motivated after
hearing that.
The Wingham Ironmen's
season ended on April 16
after losing in the OHA
championship against the
Grimsby Peach Kings.
"All and all we had a pretty
good year. We made it to the
finals so we really couldn't
ask for more," said Wingham
player McGrath.
The Ironmen finished their
season first overall. The team
beat the Mt. Forest Patriots in
the second round and headed
to the Western 'C' finals.
After beating the
Kincardine Bulldogs, the
Ironmen advanced to the
OHA playoffs for the first
time in 20 years.
