House league action
The Seaforth House league junior and
senior teams participated in a tournament
at the Seaforth arena last Saturday. The
Blues started off with a strong game but
Ducks flew over the Blues to win the
gamel0-2. Ducks gpals were scored Tyler
listman, Brent Vincent, Colin Campbell,
Dan Schenk, Braden Connolly, Brandon
Thompson and Deklan Cronin. The Blues
goals were scored by Jordan Currie and
Cody Janmaat.
McGrath wins Jr. C title with Ironmen

A Seaforth man will be
going on to the All -Ontario
Jr. 'C' hockey league finals
with the Wingham
Ironmen.
Greg McGrath, 18, son of
Larry and Dianne, was part
of the Ironmen's first
Western Jr. `C' Hockey
League championship win
in 21 years and will play in
the Ontario Hockey
Association (OHA) Jr.
finals.
"It was definitely
experience,"
said McGrath,
who is in his
second year as
defensemen
for the
Ironmen. "It
was a very
exciting, game
and I'm glad
to have been a
part of it."

London said the Ironmen
got past their rivals this
year, the Kincardine
Bulldogs, four games to
one.
"Kincardine has won the
Western Junior `C' Hockey

the past several years. So
when we finally won the
series, there was a huge
celebration afterwards,"
said McGrath.
After a three -games -to -
none series lead, the
Ironmen dropped game
four at the Davidson Centre
in Kincardine on Friday,
March 5 only to rebound
from a 2-0 first period
deficit on the Saturday to
win the game, played at the
North Huron-Wescast
Community Complex in
Wingham, 4-3.

the quarter-
finals of the
OHA Jr.
playdowns
against the
Stayner
Siskins on
Friday, March 12.
"We'll need to win eight
more games before we can
make it to the finals," said
McGrath, prior to the
Ironmen's first game.
"We were not too sure
who we'll meet up with at

first but we would have
never faced this team
before so it's going to be a
challenge," he said. "We're
staying confident but we
are not going into this too
confident."
However, game one of
the quarter -finals in
Wingham on Friday saw
the Ironmen take a 4-2 loss.
On Sunday, game two
was held in Stayner and
once again the Siskins beat
the Ironmen 3-0 but the
Wingham team is still in
the game.
Game three was played
on Tuesday, March 16 in
Wingham but no scores
were available before press
time. Game four will be
played on Thursday, March
18 at 8:30 p.m. in Stayner.
