Dad...so many images come to mind, Whenever we speak your name. It seems without you in our lives. Things have never been the same. Dad, some days we hear your voice, And turn to see your face. Yet in our turning...it seems. The sound has been erased. Dad, who will we turn to for answers, When life does not make sense. Who will be there to hold us close, When the pieces just don't fit? Oh, dad, if we could turn back time, And once more hear your voice, We'd tell you that out of all the dads, You would still be our number one choice. Please always know we love you, And no one can take your place. Years may come and go, But your memories will never be erased. Today, Jesus, as you are listening, In your home above, Would you go and find our dad, And give him all of our love. -Missing you terribly, love Kathy and Rick, Angi, Andrew and Matthew. 46-09x1 47. "1 wouldn't have been able to do this without the support from t h e community," said Karen Delvecchio; the new owner of Sally's Closet, at 61 Main St. The 23- y e a r- o l d Egmondville resident purchased the second-hand store from Alta Wilbur in January. "I've always liked this business itself and I just love second-hand stores," said Delvecchio, a past employee of Sally's Closet. Although Delvecchio is a first time business owner, she said she has experience in retail and marketing. She said she hopes to offer newer items, of good quality and for a low price. She said she takes house hold items and clothing on consignment. She also purchases items from auction sales across Ontario to sell at her store. "It's like a recycling centre," she said. "There is something here for everyone. There is lots of clothing for men and women, of all different sizes, and you're sure to find something that is unique." Delvecchio said she is looking forward to working with the Seaforth Business Improvement Association. "I'm very thankful to the the downtown businesses and the community for being so welcoming. I'm looking forward to being a part of the town," she said. Sally's Coset's new business hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. On the other side of ;he street, an established business owner is looking forward to expanding her product line in a new location. "I really needed a bigger location. And here, there is more space to fill," said Donna Teatero, Clow the sole owner of Classic Touch Liquidation and now located at 90 Main St. Teatero, who opened Classic Touch Liquidation on Nov. 1 at 60 Main St, moved the business to the former Andrea's Restaurant and re -opened during the first weekend in February. "The response from the community has been outstanding, more than what I expected. It's been very busy and very successful since we opened," said Teatero, of Egmondville. Teatero said she has extended her furniture line with coaches, sofas, entertainment centres, tables and chairs and bed frames. "We have a little` bit of everything, just more of it," she said. Classic Touch Liquidation has a wide variety of bedding, kitchen appliances, bathroom supplies and accessories, electrical tools and more. Teatero also credit her business success to the support from her family. "My family has been very helpful and the kids are also helping by working in the store. It's a family business," she said. Classic Touch Liquidation is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 - 5 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 - 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.rn. Karen Delvecchio Commissioner wants Guides in Seaforth By Sara Campbell Expositor Staff The area's new district commissioner of Girl Guides has made it one of her goals to re-establish a group in Seaforth. "We hope to introduce or re -introduce girls and women to Guides," said Cheryl McKenzie, who was appointed the district commissioner of the Silver Maple Guides branch (Mitchell, Wartburg and Scaforth) in November. McKenzie said there arc eight girls from Seaforth and arca that are members of the Mitchell Guides and she believes the district lost many members to the Clinton group. She said both in Mitchell and Wartburg Guides have an increasing number of girls joining. But, she said, they are facing a loss of Guide leaders, as arc other groups in Ontario, which may have caused the end of the Scaforth group. "it's good to have many girls interested in Guides hut that means nothing if we don't have any leaders," she said. "We are in such need of Guiding leaders that 1 hope we may be able to bring some women hack to Guiding or in for the first time." She said that at least three more leaders arc needed in Mitchell and Wartburg. But she added that she believes once there is an interest to start a group in Seaforth, new leaders will come forward. "Many women in the area have clone their duty as leaders when their daughters were involved and they do not want to jump hack into things again. Other women in the arca probably do not know about Guiding or don't know that we arc in such need of leaders," she said. McKenzie said those interested in becoming leaders are not required to have been in Guides before but must he over 18 and take a required background check. "it's a rewarding experience, seeing girls develop their tnrc potential as they go through the units," she said. iy "The program is always being changed to adapt to the children and youth of today." She said Guides also now offer scholarships, youth exchanges and camping trips, along with skills for at home and in their community. "1 believe that Girl Guides is a great opportunity for girls to learn valuable skills and develop self awareness and community awareness in a fun setting of just girlfriends," she said. To become a leader, or for more information, contact McKenzie at 348-9099 or email jcmckenzie@ezlink.ca
