At Hensall United Church, it was a special Sunday with the children taking part in Hensall the service. The children's choir sang "Will You Come And Follow Me." Warren Elder lit the peace candle and also read the scripture. Fred Darke's message was "God Uses Sinners." Lauralee Schnieder was the organist with Betty Simmons greeting everyone. At Carmel Presbyterian Church Tracy Whitson- Bahro was the minister with Joyce Pepper playing the organ. The offering was received by Harry Smith and Al Hoggarth. Dorothy Taylor looked after the Sunday School. The annual meeting will be held on Feb. 29 following church service. The Hensall and Community Horticultural Society's annual meeting will be held on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at Hensall United Church. The guest speaker will be Shari Robinson, who will tell about her rug hooking business and also about a new method she uses for starting new gardens. The Hensall Fire Department in conjunction with the Hensall Community Development Action Committee is hosting an "all you can eat." Valentine's Day Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Hensall United Church. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. An proceeds go to community improvement projects and events. The range of motion exercises were followed by quiz games to stimulate brain function. In the afternoon the women of Kippen United Church provided assistance and prizes for pingo. Queensway's volunteer auxiliary met Tuesday morning to preview upcoming - February programs and schedule their assistance wherever needed. They also provide delivery for the Meals on Wheels program. We also have a few residents that really enjoy Scrabble and they're often found spending an enjoyable afternoon over their favourite game. Several weekly papers along with the London Free Press were perused at coffee and current events Thursday morning. In the afternoon residents benefitted from some pampering with handsoaks, manicures and the application of their favourite nail polish. Baking group met Friday afternoon and whipped up a batch of fresh raisin scones which then had to be taste - tested warm from the oven with butter. In the evening, Andy and Friends made some wonderful music in the Retirement Home Lounge for the Friendship Friday program. Ralph Stephenson on piano, Lois Hodgins fiddling and Jack Youngston and Andy Rau playing guitar, produced many old favourites for the welcoming crowd.
