Local residents are
staying in shape this winter
and having fun by taking
part in a Seaforth
volleyball program.
Fifteen people came out
during last Wednesday
winter storm to take part in
this year's first co-ed, non-
competitive volleyball
program.
"We all have a really
good time together," said
Ken De Corte, organizer of
the volleyball program.
"It's something we look
forward to each year and
has been a fairly successful
program."
The program runs from 8
to 10 p.m., every
Wednesday, in the gym at
Seaforth Public School.
The 10 week program is
$30 or $5 per session.
"It's all adults and no one
keeps score and we
sometimes follow the rules.
It really is just a fun sport,"
said De Corte, adding that
the program has been
running for over 15 years
in Seaforth.
The players are between
the ages of 20 and 60. De
Corte said that many. of the
players live outside of
Seaforth and only a couple
of the players reside in
town.
"We joined with a few of
our other friends and
haven't stopped coming
since. It gets us out of the
house, keeps us active and
enjoying ourselves," said
Jill Tenhag, a member of
the volleyball group for the
past two years.
I't's good exercise and
rots of fun," said Martha
Vandiepen, who has been a
part of the program for five
years. "It's a great way to
socialize with friends and
make new ones."
De Corte added that new
players can join at any time
or can call the Seaforth
arena for more information
at 527-1272.
"Who ever wants to can
come out and just have fun
playing volleyball," said
De Corte. "Everyone is
welcomed'

THANK YOU!
The Kamikaze Woo-Woo's would like to thank everyone (almost!) for
bringing in the New Year's with us. This was our first New Year's event
and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. This past summer the
Kamikaze Woo -Wow's succeeded in winning a Provincial Championship
which leads us to a National Co-ed Slo-Pitch Tournament in Monkton.
NB in the summer of 2004. We are one of four teams to represent Ontario
at this Tournament and the funds raised at our New Year's dance will go
towards covering some of the costs for this trip.
We would like to thank the Huron OPP for being there that evening. In
association with that, a special thank you would like to be extended to the
OPP officers (we know who you are). who we hired to provide a
physical presence for the evening. These two officers in particular were
regarded in the highest by our team with respect to their assistance.
Other important thank you's are extended to: The Seaforth Agricultural
Society, Ross & Joyce Ribey, the wonderful facility operators, our DJ,
Jeffrey Heipel. Bob Campbell, Maurice Richard, our bus drivers Brian
Decker and Tem Shobbrook, with particular recognition to Tem by the
Blyth crew on the return drive. •
Lastly. we would like to thank our friends in Team JEBUS. Kelly Boven,
Leanne Jamieson. Steve Rintoul, Tony Smith. Dan Dalzell, Tanya
Franken, Greg Blok, Mark Wilson, Holly, Jason Heipel, Jim & Marg
Anderson and all those who joined us for New Year's. Your support is
appreciated; we could not have done it without you. Thanks again.
The Kamikaze Woo -Wow's.
