THE CHRISTMAS
STORY
By Rachel Askett
Grade 5
St. James
When Mary was pregnant
with Jesus the Emperor
wanted a count of his
people. So Joseph had to go
from Nazareth to Bethlehm
with Mary because that was
his hometown.
When they were looking
for a room all the inns were
full but on the third inn the
innkeeper said, "You may
rest in my stable." Mary and
Joseph agreed because Mary
was getting tired. Mary had
Jesus in the stable and she I
ay him in a manger.
Out in the fields some
shepherds were watching
over their sheep when an
angel appeared. The
shepherds were afraid but
the angel said, "Do not be
afraid. I have good news."
So the shepherds were not
afraid and listened.
The angel said again "I
have good news, your
saviour has been born. Go to
the manger in Bethlehem."
So the shepherds went and
soon enough they found
Mary, Joseph and Jesus and
went to tell the world the
saviour was born.
THE CHRISTMAS
STORY
By Kalen Devereaux
Grade 5
St. James
The King wanted to find
out how many people were
in the empire so all the
people had to go to where
they came from.
Joseph was from the
family of David so he went
to Bethlehem. Mary was
engaged to Joseph so she
went too. Mary was going to
have a baby.
They could not find any
place to stay so they had to
go to a stable where Maiy
gave birth to baby Jesus.
Outside there were some
shepherds watching over
their sheep. An angel
appeared to them and said,
"do not be afraid. There has
been a saviour born in
Bethlehem."
The angel told them to
follow the bright star in the
north and they found baby
Jesus in a manger. They
went and spread the good
news about Jesus.

STORY

Back before Jesus was
born the King wanted to
know how many people
lived in his empire. Joseph
had to go bck to his home
town. Mary was engaged to
Joseph and was expecting a
baby.
They both went to
Bethlehem because that is
where he was born. When
they got to Bethlehem Mary
had Jesus. Jesus was born in
a stable because there was
no room in the inns.
Away in a meadow some
shepherds were watching
their sheep. An angel came
to them and said "In
Bethlehem your saviour has
been born, Christ the Lord."
The shepherds went straight
to Bethlehem to see if what
they heard was true.
They found their way to
Joseph, Mary and baby
Jesus. The shepherds spread
the news about baby Jesus
and Mary was full of joy for
all that God had given her.

The emperor of Rome
ordered everyone to go to
his town to be counted, so
Mary and Joseph left for
Bethlehem. Once they made
it to Bethlehem, Mary gave
birth to Jesus. He was born
in a stable because there was
no room anywhere else.
Nearby there were some
shepherds watching their

The angel said, "Do not be
afraid." Then she told them

I wish that there was peace
on earth. I wish that nobody
would go hungry. I wish that
the wars would stop. I wish
that everyone would love
each other. I wish that all
people had more money and
that no one would have to
leave their homes. I wish
that more people would be
good to each other and that
there would be goodness on
all the earth.

The year
the elves
went
on strike
By Claire Van Doornik
Grade 3
St. James
Once upon a time, not too
long ago, Santa's elves worked
as long as usual. Santa always
checked on them - hearing the
pound of the hammers, pound!
Pound! The clanking of the
wrench ting! ting! and the
other sounds in a workshop.
Just when Santa closed the
door an elf named Bobby
stood on the tallest thing he
could reach and said,
"Everyone, Santa just wants us
to be his slaves! He just wants
us to make the toys because he
doesn't want to. So if you
agree with me put your hand
up please."
All the elves put their hands
up except for one little elf
named Susie. She said "But I
want to work for Santa." All
the other elves gasped. All of a
sudden the door creaked.
Bobby yelled, "Everyone be
lazy so we don't work!" Every
elf was lazy except for Susie.
She keeped on working on the
doll she was working on
before.
Santa was entering saying
"No, Mrs. Claus I do not want
a cookie right now." Then he
saw Susie working and the rest
lazy. Santa said to Susie "Why
Susie, why don't you come
with me to have a cookie or
two?" "Sure" said Susie "I'd
love to."
All the other elves were mad.
They wanted cookies too. So
they went back to work. Soon
all the presents were wrapped
and put in Santa's sleigh. Santa
was off. When they were on a
roof top, Rudolph said to
Dasher, "Why didn't Santa go
down the chimney?" Dasher
answered, "Because the door
was easier." All the other
reindeer laughed.
THE SICK REINDEER
RUDOLPH
By Josh Laycox
Grade 3
St. James
One Christmas there was a
very sick reindeer named
Rudolph. Santa was very
worried. He said, "Oh no!"
What am I going to do now?
How can I deliver toys when
my head reindeer Rudolph is
sick?
He sat down and wondered
what to do. He quickly
jumped off his chair. He said,
"I know what to do! I will
give Rudolph some
medicine." He got the
medicine and he gave
Rudolph some of it.
Santa asked Rudolph a
question. He asked, "Are you
feeling better yet Rudolph?"
Rudolph shook his head yes!
"Now" said Santa, "Are you
ready to fly yet Rudolph?"
Rudolph shook his head yes!
Santa said "Come Rudolph
now let's deliver toys! Then
he met a friend, a kid. The kid
asked if he could go. Santa
said "Yes!" The elf asked if
he could come too and Santa
said yes! So they all delivered
all the toys to good little boys
and girls in the world and
lived happily ever after.
