Arenas offering Kids Christmas programs
The Huron East Recreation
Department is ensuring
children will have fun over the
Christmas holidays.
From Dec. 22 - 31, the
Huron East Recreation
Department will be offering
kids Christmas programs at
the Seaforth, Vanastra and
Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centres.
A Hockey Skills Camp will
be held from Dec. 22 - 24 at
the Seaforth arena, from 8 - 2
p.m., for children, ages 7 - 14,
at $60 each.
The program will be lead by
Leah Craig, of the Bluewater
Jr. Hawks, Team Ontario
(national champions) London
Jr. Strangs and Seaforth Minor
Hockey, along with Luke
Vick, of the St Mary's Jr. B
Mid West AAA and Seaforth
Minor Hockey.
The program will include
power skating, stick skills and
puck control, shooting, skills
competition, off ice activities
and a hockey game to
conclude the camp.
Also at the Seaforth arena, a
"Fun Cooking for Kids"
program will be held on Dec.
22 and 23 from 8 - 4 p.m. and
on Dec. 24 from 8 - 12 p.m.
Children will learn how to
cook fun. and healthy foods,
while promoting safety first,
for breakfast, lunch or supper.
There will also be time for
games and public skating
between cooking lessons.
Both the Fun Cooking for
Kids and the Hockey Skills
Camp have limited space
available and parents should
register their children by
calling the arena at 527-1272.
The Brussels, Morris and
Grey Community Centre will
present Skating Skills with
Michelle Blake, on Dec. 29
and 30, from 10 - 11 a.m. and
11-12p.m.
