The other two running for
election in Grey, Dale
Newman and Debbie Van
Beek received 168 and 88
votes respectively.
McLellan learned of the
election results from his
daughters in Toronto and
Kitchener, who called after
reading the results on the
internes.
He also took his son to the
polls to vote for the first time
and had to listen to his son
kid him on the way home
that he hadn't voted for him.
"I though I probably stood
a good chance of winning
since I've been involved in
Grey politics for 12 years. It

"The residents look to the
roads to see if things are
being done," he said.
Beaven said he was more
nervous during Monday's
municipal election than he
was running as the Alliance
candidate for Huron -Bruce
during the last federal
election.
"It was very nerve-
wracking because you're so
much more in touch with the
voters municipally," he said.
Beaven said he's happy
with the way he ran his
campaign, getting to half of
the doors in Grey ward.
"I put up a lot of signs
because I had to get my
name out there and when I
went to people's doors,
they'd seen the signs. But,
still you never know," he
said.
