THE NOMINATION
A large crowd attended the nom-
ination here on Tuesday afternoon.
The hall was filled to the doors, and
a large number of ladies were pres-
ent. At the close of the nomination

of Centralia, for the . Conservatives
and Thos. McMillan, of Hullett, for

tween Mr. Hicks and Mr. McMillan
was- for Mr.—McMillan to speak first
for 45 minutes, then Mr. Hicks and
Mr. H. G. Fester, of Hamilton, who

speak for 55 minutes after which
Mr. McMillan was to have 10 minutes
for a reply. This program was car-
ried out, and each speaker was gait
en a good reception.. Each uandi-
worse until the end came on Mon-
day morning. Mr. Pollock had the
honor of being one of the first boys
born in this Township, although a
large part of his ..life was' scent in
D21chigan, British Columbia and
Manitoba; but has been a resident
of Hensall for the past 10 years or
so. He was a well-known horseman
having owned a number of fine ani -
mast and being regarded as elle of
the best judges of hoses in the dis-
trict. He is survived by his widow
