KIPPEN BEATS AILSA CRAIG IN
GRAND BEND SOFT BALL •
GAME
The Kippen girls won witli a
score of 8 to 6 in their regular
scheduled game at Grand Bend
Casino. groun4s. This was a big sur-
prise as the Craig girls are looke
on as practically the hardest tea
in the league to beat. The Kippen
girls sure played wonderful ball and
with a game like that at the be-
ginning of the season they would
now be the league leaders. -At no
time were they in trouble wliereas
the Craig girls were over sure all
the time and then went down to de-
feat. The teams were: Kippen—Mae
Brintnell, Doris Dollen, Mona Mc-
Gregor, Ruby McLaren, Norma 1301 -
ton, Mae McDougall, Flo. Venner,
Letty Lane, Elva Dolton. Ailsa
Craig—H. Hodgins, G. Hodgins, V.
Hodgins, P. Reid, E. Hodgins, K.
McIntyre, M. Hudson, L. Hughes, L.
Grant.
In the Parkhill -Forest fixture -
Forest defaulted to Parkhill thus
giving Parkhill a stronger hold on
first place in the league race. This
is too bad as a number of the Forest
girls are in the lead for the highest
batting average, and this will give
them a set back.
.. E. S. and Mrs. Steiner are
holidaying at Rockport N.Y. The
office will be closed until August
25th. •ett
