Mid -Huron Landfill Site
Please be advised, effective Tuesday, December 31st at
4:00 p.m. The Mid -Huron Landfill Board will increase its
tipping fee rate from the current $40 per metric tonne to
$60 per metric tonne. The rate increase is required to
ensure sufficient funds are available for the closure and
perpetual care of this site.
The minimum fee will remain at the current $5.00 for 80
kgs. (175 lbs.) of refuse. Cars will be weighed at the
discretion of the Landfill staff. All other vehicle traffic will
be weighed.
El Presently, cooling systems (fridges/air conditioners
etc.) declared at the weigh scale are charged $25.00 plus
weight. Systems not declared at the scale are charged
$40.00 plus weight. Note - These prices may increase in
the New Year.
❑ Passenger car tires declared at the weigh scale are
charged $3.00 per tire ($10.00 not declared). This will
increase to $4.00 per tire ($12.00 not declared).
Note - This landfill is not able to accept liquids,
especially paints and oils, which are harmful to the
environment. We would encourage everyone to recycle in
order to extend the life of the site.
