The hamlet of Slabtown entered a float featuring "Frosty
the Snowman" to recognize the third annual parade. Santa
was also on hand, in spite of the freezing cold, riding his
sleigh and participating in the event. Ken Glanville was
presented with the "trophy" for his outstanding light show.
The students at St. Columban School are anticipating the
celebration of Christmas with several upcoming activities.
Dec. 17 has been named "Red and Green Day." That day the
students will dress in clothing with the Christmas colours.
A school Advent Celebration will be held at St. Patrick's
Church in Dublin on Dec. 19. A door decorating contest is
scheduled for Dec. 20. Each classroom will have their door
decorated for the festive season.
Meanwhile, the annual book fair is still going on. Two
more "buddy days" will be held before the Christmas break.
The Grade 8 class attended a "tech fair" held recently at St.
Michael Secondary School in Stratford. There, they learned
about welding by making a Christmas tree. An experience of
woodworking included each student making a key holder.
