At Hensall United Church the service began with the
"passing of the peace." The Jolly family lit the second Advent
candle.
During the children's time "Mary Had a Baby Boy" was sung.
The choir sang an anthem, "Prepare the Way of the Lord".
Rev Pirie's message was "Sometines the Scruffy Do a Good
Job." Lorelee Schnieder was the organist with Vern Alderdice
greeting the worshippers.
Kay Mock read the scripture. Rob and Karen Jolly received
Hensall
the offering.
The community dinner at the
Hensall United Church was well-
received by the community. Before
the dinner a concert was enjoyed followed by a visit from Santa
Claus.
At Carmel Presbyterian Church Tracey Whitson-Bahro was
the minister. Joyce Pepper was the organist with Al Hoggarth
lighting the Advent Candle. The offering was received by
Harry Smith and Al Hoggarth
Come out and enjoy our Christmas meal at the Hensall Drop -
In on Dec. 19 at the Hensall United Church. Lunch will be
served at noon.
Following lunch, we will be having Rev Pirie Mitchell speak.

oth annual Christmas concert

A successful turkey dinner was
held at Branch 156 last Saturday.
Sunday afternoon, the 50th
annual Children's Christmas
Legion
Concert was held.
Barbara Scott introduced president of Branch 156 Ann
Wood who welcomed everyone present on behalf of the
Branch.
Those taking part were Jamie Brown who sang "All You
People," Katelyn Govier who clogged and Tori Cardiff who
sang "Away In A Manger."
Rachael Nigh sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,"
Katelyn Govier recited a poem written by her grandmother
Lois Govier and Tori and Sophie Cardiff did
"Old MacDonald Had A Farm."
Melissa Pushelberg stepdanced, Meagan Cardno played
"Away In A Manger," on the piano and Sabrina Meidinger
tapdanced. Tori Cardiff than
sang "Rudolf the Rednosed
Reindeer."
Robyn Doig played the
piano, Jarod Smith sang the alphabet song and Gwynne
Burgess played the piano.
Angela Smith, assisted by the children, sang carols and
Christmas songs until Santa Claus arrived to give each child
a bag of candy, apples and oranges.
The Ladies Auxiliary committee Mary Doig, Nancy
Mitchell and Helen Ann Elliott served cookies, juice, tea
and coffee to all present.
The executive committee will meet Thursday, Dec. 12 at
7:30 p.m. The general meeting will be Dec: 19 at 8 p.m.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will
remember them.

Seaforth's CIBC staff raised S1,241 for the Huron County
United Way this year. Above, Vicky Piluke, executive director of
