Many have dreamed of wearing a long white wedding dress, the symbol of purity, elegance and refinement, ever since they were a little girl. But, before getting caught up in the Cinderella fantasy brides must keep in mind that their wedding 'dress should reflect their own unique personality and physical features. It should also be appropriate for the type of wedding planned. Sometimes the best way to find the perfect wedding dress is just to try on several designs. Eventually, a particular style will prove to be the most flattering. For example, if you are tall and thin, or short and petite, consider yourself lucky because you can wear almost anything. If you are tall and rounder, avoid wearing tight dresses or many layers of fabric. Instead, choose a dress that will slim your figure, such as a straight skirt. It will minimize your hips and lengthen your legs. If you are short and rounder, a simple style will be the most flattering. When it comes to the styles of wedding dresses, the choices are virtually endless. A few examples include the princess dress, which has a close - fitting, undefined waistline and a slightly Photo by Matt Shurrie Choosing the right wedding dress is one of the first steps in planning your big day. Other dresses can emphasize the waist and chest; these generally have a straight or flared skirt. Alternatively, brides can have a custom-made dress made by a specialized seamstress. Regardless of the type of dress you choose to wear, not only is it important that you look beautiful, but you must also feel beautiful. Being comfortable and feeling like a princess will keep a beautiful smile on your face throughout your entire wedding. 1(111 IONS Comes complete with keg attachments for special events or for catering Contact Barry Smyth 519-529-7422 Larry MacPherson 519-669-4686 MAGNOLIA MANOR BED & BREAKFAST A Haven of Peace & Tranquility Select Accommodation Honeymoon Package for you or your guests. Again this year, the white wedding gown is still on the top of the list. However, there is a growing trend in off-white dresses decorated with beautiful, delicate touches of colour, such as burgundy and blue flowers. Among the most popular styles remains the tried- and-true A-line dress. Most of today's wedding dresses seem to lean towards one extreme or the other: either very elaborate or very simple and understated. It also appears that the cathedral -length veil is out and that shorter chapel veils are definitely in. Other trends include traditional fabrics such as organza, tulle, silk and crepe, plunging necklines, bared shoulders and full skirts. Accessories are moving towards pearls, lace and embroidery. Haute couture is also influencing bridal gowns with its audacity and beauty. Examples of this influence include light, silky fabrics, draped fabrics, ruchings, ribbons and other marvelous touches that can turn a regular woman into a stunning princess.
