urday and spent the holidays with

Master Victor Lutman, who has
been seriously ill with pneumonia, is
improving and is now able to 15e up
and around,

week have meant much to the farm-
ers. The grain and the grass are
coming along fine.
Rev R. E. Southcott, of Jeannet-
te's Creek, spent Monday and Tues-
day in town, prior to going to Strat-
ford to attend conference.
Mrs. Inwood and daughter Kath-
erine and hfiss Bernice Holtzman, of
London, were holiday guests with
Miss Vosper and Miss Sanders.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Graham and
babe visited for a few days at Em-
bro. Mr. Trueman Mills, of Cent-
ralia supplied for him at the
station.
Mr. W. G. Medd left Monday ev-
ening for Stratford to attend con-
ference, being a representative of
the Settlement Committee from Hur-
on Presbytery.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Hodgins, of Ham-
ilton; Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, of Lon-
don and Mrs. Geo. Hodgins, of Lucan
called on Mr. and Mrs., Wm. Hod-
gert on Sunday.
Mr. Melville Gladman, who has
completed his final. year pat Os-
goode Hall, Toronto, and Master
Donald Gladman, of London, spent
Sunday and Monday in Exeter.
The Times -Advocate will be print-

to the half holiday Wednesday after-

spent the holidays under the parent-

acceptable solo in Caven church

Rev. A. Pe. Johns, occupied the
James St. pulpit Sunday evening and+
gave a very interesting synopsis of
the work, especially the educational
,work, being carried on in Chentu,
West China. Mr. and Mrs. Jaime
have spent fifteen years in China
a:nd great progress has been made
in the work in that time.
Mr. W. H. Johnson have, the last
two weeks, been delighted with calls
Froin 'some of the former's pupils of
other clays, among them being Mrs.
Simmons, of Heiman; her sister, Mrs.
Calfas, of Santa Barbara, Cal,; A.
McMurtrle, of the 'Bank of Montreal,
Toronto, accompanied by his mother
